Burgundy Long Sleeve Shirt - £10
(also available in black, navy, grey and white/cream)
Primark Burgundy ShirtPrimark Burgundy Shirt

After previously buying the black version of this shirt and really loving the style and fit, I went and purchased the burgundy colour. A rich deep purpley red burgundy is a perfect winter colour and is a colour I have been wearing a lot recently. The style of the shirt is something I really love, the silver buttons really contrast with the burgundy, and the roll up sleeves allow you to wear it casually as well as formally. This shirt can be worn simply on its own, or with a blazer or cardigan, with a nice statement necklace to give a really elegant and classy look, as well as wearing it tucked in with jeans, shorts, skirts or even leggings. The only downside to this is that if you do happen to catch the material on something, it does pull quite easily and can leave holes, so be careful! Overall, for only £10 its definitely worth the money!

Dark Grey Studded Long Sleeve Top £5
(also available in black, white and khaki)

When I first saw this top, I was really captured by the lace detail on the shoulders and the gold studs set along the collar bone, that really contrast with the grey and stand out. A very casual top that looks lovely with skinny jeans or leggings, or can even be dressed up for a more formal look tucked into a black skirt or shorts. Another reason I liked this was because of the hi-low front and back and the long skinny arms, as well as it being very comfy to wear and looks amazing on.

Light Blue Denim Shirt - £10

This is a very simple, yet gorgeous denim shirt, and definitely a bargain for only a tenner! What really drew me towards this was the beautiful pearly poppers that looked stunning against the light denim fabric. This again is a very casual shirt, can have the sleeves rolled up or down, which I like to wear with a nice necklace under the collar, that really makes a statement! Although, I bought this now, I think it would look lovely in the summer as its not too tight fitting and can go with literally anything!

Black Jaguar Collar Blouse - £7

This is probably one of my most favourite purchases from Primark.... EVER! A gorgeous black blouse, short sleeves and a nice collar, but what I loved about it the most was the stunning golden jaguar head studs on the collar. They are simply outstanding! This for me is a very formal piece of clothing that I would wear on an evening out somewhere, although the top is see-through, so I would personally wear a small black vest top underneath, the material is very comfortable and feels smooth against the skin. Teamed up with some skinny jeans and heels or flats, and you're bound to look amazing! Also, the price, for only £7, this is well worth the money!!!

Khaki Cardigan with Elbow Pads - £10
(also available in black and beige)

After purchasing both the black and the beige cardigan, I also saw this one on my latest trip to Primark. I absolutely loved the colour and also loved how these cardigans fit and the super soft material. With dark brown buttons, two small pockets on the front and a brown coloured elbow pads, these cardigans can be worn with any outfit, casual or formal, it will look great!

The Kate Moss collection from Rimmel London is one of the highest quality lipsticks I've ever found at such a low price. I've only tried 2 shades from this collection- Shade 08 (a dusky pink) and Shade 05 (a bright fushia) and have absolutely loved both since I bought them!  I thought the collection has a great range of colours and shades that allow you to change your lip colour for different occasions, or just a change of style. These lipsticks include a formula which is a Black Diamond Pigment Complex which makes this lipstick reflect an even more radiant and intense shadeThe price for this lipstick is incredible for such a good lasting effect and I would definitely buy more shades from this collection!

The packaging alone for this collection is something the definitely catches the eye - the matte black casing and red writing is a very minimalist but very sexy concept, and draws you in before you even look at the range of colours.  The packaging also makes the product look classier, more elegant and higher end which I like, easy to use without any fuss!

Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 08

This lipstick is absolutely lovely! A beautiful nude creamy neutral pink colour that gives a semi-matte finish with a hint of shine. Shade 08 is a very natural lip colour, so it can be worn everyday to  give your lips a boost and make them appear fuller than normal, without being over the top. The lipstick is quite pigmented, glides on very easy and lasts all day long, which means no need to re-apply, which is great!

Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 05

I immediately fell in love with shade 05 – a bright, bold fushia pink colour that would brighten up any smile without being to over the top. The lipstick itself is really creamy to apply, leaves your lips feeling hydrated and has a really nice smell to it, unlike other lipsticks I have tried. One thing I love about this shade is that it is very versatile, and can be worn at any time of the day, for everyday use or just an evening out.

RRP - £5.49

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
I purchased this perfume before Christmas and have LOVED it ever since! Its's a pleasant and pretty perfume, with a fragrance that is light, sweet, and floral. Notes include freesia, apple blossom, raspberry, vanilla, honeysuckle and white hibiscus, resting on base notes of amber, sandalwood and peach.

Also, the bottle itself is lovely and amazingly designed and omits quite a mystical and magical feel, with a purple and gold colour scheme! I love the bottle and think its adorable , a lovely shade of purple with a cool iridescence going on.  It features 3 small gold charms connected together on a chain: a spiked star, a bird and a birdcage that makes its very visually pleasing. Also, the lid to the perfume is very intricately detailed and embossed with a very pretty pattern.

I would recommend this perfume very highly, its not too expensive and think it would make an amazing present to any woman. It's a very light and sweet smell that is very pretty - JUST AN AMAZING PERFUME!

January's Jewellery #1 Necklaces

17:01 Laura Thornberry 0 Comments

Over the past month, I have recently purchased a numerous amount of jewellery, the majority is necklaces that I have really liked, mostly from Primark and New Look. I always find that Primark always has similar jewellery in there collections, but i have managed to find a few nice pieces that I have included in my January favourites. Also, I never really tend to buy as much jewellery from New Look, not only because of the price, but the fact I never seem to find much in the stores that I actually like, however this time i did!!!

Here's my January Favourites! Enjoy!

Triple Tier Silver Necklace - Primark £4

I saw this necklaces featured in a Youtube video by "Zoella" and instantly fell in love with it, so I popped to my local Primark to find it! I loved the fact that it was a tiered necklace, with interesting pendants and is also quite long, which can allow it to either be worn formally or casually. Also, for only £4, i thought this was quite a bargain for such a beautiful necklace!

Multi Cross Necklace - New Look £6

New Look NecklaceNew Look Necklace
This is probably my most favourite jewellery purchase of the month from the "Roam" jewellery concession available in selected New Look stores. This multi cross necklace is a perfect statement piece of jewellery, featuring crosses of 3 different colours - gold, silver and rose gold/copper,  that look amazing with a collared shirt or blouse.

Silver Multi Spike Necklace - New Look £7.99

New Look Necklace
Another purchase of mine, also from New Look is this gorgeous "V" shaped multi spike necklace in silver, (also available in gold) is a very statement necklace that also looks beautiful with collared shirts or blouses. I thought this was a lovely necklace, and also the fact it isn't very heavy around the neck is also a good point!

Double Chain Gold Cross Necklace - Primark £2

Primark Necklace
My final January necklace favourite is this Double Chain Gold Cross Necklace I bought in Primark. Another beautiful necklace that can also be work either casually with a jumper/top or for an evening out in a more formal manor. For only £2, I thought this was quite a bargain!

New Years Resolutions

New Year Resolutions

This year I have decided to set myself a number of New Years Resolutions, which is something I haven't really done in the past. However, this year i decided that was to change, not only as something to focus and be motivated for, but something to improve and better myself as a person. This year I have decided on 2 main resolutions, to which by the end of the year, I would like to hope I can achieve and fulfill.

1. Less Worrying, More Confidence!

Confidence
Being someone who generally always worries about what other people think of them, or saying/doing something wrong, I find this always tends to make me feel more stressed and anxious is certain circumstances. I think this stems from when i was younger and in high school, where I use to be very shy and quiet individual, with little confidence. However, 2013 is the year where I am not going to worry about what anyone else thinks, I need to accept that small and insignificant things shouldn't matter and I should be more confident and believe in myself a lot more!

2. Healthier Lifestyle
I chose to change certain aspects of my lifestyle in order to be a healthier and happier person. One thing I find that I never seem to do is drink enough water, which is an important factor for your body to function well. As a New Years Resolution, I decided that I am going to try and drink 2 litres a day, and not indulge in as many sugary or fizzy drinks, which aren't too good for you! The benefits of this will allow me to feel a lot better and healthier, as well as seeing an improvement in my skin and just generally feeling more hydrated and refreshed!

So those are my little personal challenges/goals I have decided to set myself for the year, to try and improve my confidence, as well as my health, to lead a more stress-free and happier lifestyle.

2013 New Year

                          New Year 2013

So another new year has come and I've decided to do something different! I have set myself the challenge of creating a blog about things I am passionate about; Music, Fashion and Beauty related topics. I decided to start a blog to express my thoughts and feelings on certain topics, and at the end of this year I want to look back and see which I managed to do. It's also a way of documenting your life on a day to day basis as something you can look back over and remember what you have achieved.
