Review - Senzimi Skin Care*

14:06 Laura Thornberry 0 Comments

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. Today I have a review of some skin care samples that I kindly received via Senzimi
If you haven't heard about Senzimi, here's a little information. They are unisex skin care company who's products are targeted towards those with dry, irritated or sensitive skin. The range of products they have to offer have between 90 – 99% natural ingredients, that can be used as part of a skin and scalp cleansing, nourishing and protection routine. There brand focuses on giving sufferers the opportunity to have a daily skin and hair care routine, using products on their skin that won’t further irritate it.
So lets go into what products they have to offer and what they help with. Senzimi currently offer a range of 4 products in there naturals collection; a cleanser, a moisturiser, a shampoo and a conditioner, perfect for those with allergies, dryness or irritation of the skin or scalp.
  • Senzimi Cleanser - "This luxurious, effective yet mild cleansing cream has been formulated especially for people with dry, sensitive and troublesome skin. This is a 95% natural product that combines excellent mild cleansing action and usability with superior conditioning, soothing and healing power, so your skin not only looks great, but also feels great."
  • Senzimi Moisturiser - "This light and easily absorbed natural moisturiser has been formulated especially for people with dry, sensitive and troublesome skin. This is a product that really works for you. Containing some of the best natural active ingredients available on the market today, and also having a pH that matches that of the skin means it will work in synergy with your skin."
  • Senzimi Shampoo - "This mild sulphate free shampoo is ideal for people with dry and sensitive scalps and damaged normal to thick weight of hair. This is a 95.47% natural product that combines excellent cleansing action and usability without irritating your scalp."
  • Senzimi Conditioner - "This rich yet mild 90.45% natural conditioner has been formulated with three functions in mind. Firstly to repair and strengthen damaged hair, secondly to condition and improve the appearance and feel of hair, leaving you to style and colour as you wish, and thirdly to condition, protect, soothe and heal sensitive scalp."

The product samples I kindly got sent from Senzimi were there cleanser, moisturiser and conditioner, all of which I have tried and tested and feel I can give a good enough review of each!
  • The Senzimi cleanser was probably my favourite out of the samples I have received and I have really enjoyed using it as part of my everyday skin care routine. The cleanser contains soothing aloe, chamomile and jojoba which are all natural products that help keep the skin looking soft and plump. I used this cleanser after I had taken off all my make up with a micellar water, smooth it all over my face and removed with warm water, to make sure my skin was totally free of make up and removed all the dirt. From my first use of this product, I felt like my skin was left so soft and smooth, as well as glowing and definitely helped to soothe my skin of any redness! Also, this product helps to cleans clogged pores of oil and dead skin cells, and helps restore the skin’s natural pH balance!
  • The Senzimi moisturiser was also a nice product to use, combined with the cleanser, it does work quite well. This moisturiser is packed full of gorgeous natural ingredients such as Cucumber Extract, Aloe Vera, Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil and Oat Extract which all contribute into cooling, healing and hydrating the skin, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin! After using this product a few times, I had noticed a difference in my skin, leaving it smooth, soft, shiny and revitalized which was lovely to see! This moisturiser sinks into the skin really quickly and feels really cooling upon the skin, whilst leaving no greasy or oily residue!
  • Finally, the Senzimi conditioner, a lovely product for the hair, I wouldn't say that I have a dry or irritated scalp, but I did like using this product a lot. This conditioner definitely helps to strengthen my hair as well as protect and soothe the scalp, and leaves it looking and feeling lovely! This conditioner includes Vitamin B12 and Wheat proteins that are beneficial for repairing dry and damaged hair, as well as improving the appearance and feel of hair, which it certainly did!

If you are intrigued or interested in any of these products, head to  https://senzimi.com/ or https://twitter.com/senzimi for more information!
If you are interested in the cleanser and moisturiser, Senzimi are offering samples whilst stocks last! Get them here!

You're Gonna Hear Me ROAR

Hello everyone! Today I have put together a collection of animal print pieces from online retailer Persunmall. From shoes to bags to jewellery to dresses and other clothing items, such a vast selection, where there will definitely be something for everyone!.

The animal print is something that is both bold and timeless, always on trend, as well as something to wear to make a bold statement and put you in the spotlight! This trend that comes back every season but is not always the way, and I think the pieces I have chosen are very cool and quirky! Whilst browsing the website, I was drawn to the large selection of animal print pieces, that are still definitely on trend, and something that will suit all shapes and sizes, as well as drawing influence from a song that is currently in the charts... Can you guess what it is? If not, there's a video at the end!

Left to Right, Top to Bottom
This lion printed shirt was very eye catching whilst I was browsing the website, something that is very Rihanna-esque, and definitely quite a statement animal printed piece! I would team up with some simple dark coloured jeans and some converse trainers, to create a daytime casual look!

These simple, but stunning heeled shoes would be perfect for someone who wasn't to confident about wearing animal prints, but wanted to incorporate the trend into there wardrobe. Team up with a simple black dress and you're good to go!

This bold sweater would be perfect for someone who likes to make a statement with what they wear and isn't afraid of loud/bold colours! A colourful knit perfect for the colder months ahead, simply teamed up with some black jeans or leggings and plain pumps or trainers.

I decided to include this ABSOLUTELY adorable backpack in my post as its just so simple and cute! Not too much of an overwhelming piece, but something very simple and more of a casual accessory.

Are these statement leggings or what?!? I thought these were so much cooler and quirkier that your plain old basic black leggings! Perfect to incorporate some edginess into an outfit, teamed up with a simple tee and oversized cardigan!

I thought this t shirt was really lovely and features block colours, which would be suitable for all shapes and sizes! I loved the print design and think its a perfect piece for anyone's wardrobe, simply worn with jeans or leggings for a casual outfit.

Here's a little song, where the influence for this post came! Hope you enjoy!

Are you a fan of animal prints? What is your favourite print? What is your favourite pieces I have featured in today's post? Are you a fan of Katy Perry's song "Roar"?

My A/W Lip Products

20:14 Laura Thornberry 6 Comments

Hello everyone, I hope you are all ok! Today's blog post shall be sharing with you my "go to" lip products that I shall be using this Autumn/Winter. When thinking about what lip sticks and lacquers I have bought to use at this time of year, I was amazed that all the products I am featuring today have been from Rimmel! For the Autumn/Winter time, I usually tend to head towards either a really bold red/berry lip or a nude colour (which I wear all year round anyway), so I have included a mix and match of colours that I think would suit the majority of skin tones.

I have swatched all of the lip products above, and as you can see, they are all highly pigmented and have a full coverage with just one swipe. I find all Rimmel products I have used before, they have been very pigmented and easy to apply, as well as being very affordable and a variety of shades! Most of these products I have previously reviewed, so I shall leave the link to them, so you can go and have a peak at what I think.

Primark Haul

13:55 Laura Thornberry 6 Comments

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Today's post is a mini Primark haul, but with a twist as I am  experimenting with making videos at the moment. Instead of just a blog post full of photos about what I have purchased recently, I have attempted to film a video, to show and share with you all what I have bought in a better and easier way to find out about.

I am aware that this video is no way near brilliant, not edited at all, bad lighting (I blame this time of year!) and I am slightly ill so my voice sounds a bit rough! But for a first attempt at a video, surely I deserve some credit, hey?!? I am also experimenting with positioning, so bare with me! So sorry in advance for that!

Here are some close up photographs of what I have bought...

Chunky Cut Out Ring £1.50

Cut Out Wing Design Ring £1.50

Chunky Statement Necklace £3

Mixed Metal Midi Rings £1.50 for 8

Quilted T-Shirts £6 each

Light Knit Speckled Jumpers £6 each

Supersoft Burgundy Skinny Jeans £8
Dark Grey Tracksuit Bottoms £7

Formal Black Blazer with Pinstripe Lining £19

Did you enjoy my latest Primark haul? What did you think of my video? Is this something you would like to see more of on my blog? What have you been buying recently? Have you bought anything I have featured? Would you like to see some OOTD posts with some of the bits I have purchased?

10:00 Laura Thornberry 4 Comments

After my recent discovery of the online retailer Persunmall, I have been amazed with the range of products they have to offer at amazing prices! From shoes to bags to jewellery to dresses and other clothing items, such a vast selection, where there will definitely be something for everyone! They offer a large range of on trend products, that will become wardrobe favourites and essential pieces for this Autumn/Winter.

Whilst browsing the website, I was drawn to the large selection of monochrome pieces, that are still definitely on trend, and something that will suit all shapes and sizes! I'm also a big fan of this trend, as well as beautiful statement jewellery, so this outfit post was something I really enjoyed putting together!

If you're looking for that perfect outfit for that extra special occasion, this gorgeous on-trend monochrome outfit is the one for you! This outfit I have put together from Persunmall just screams elegance, class and sophistication!

I've teamed up this gorgeous block colour t-shirt style dress with a pair of stunning chunky boots, which are a must have for Autumn/Winter, not only for comfort, but for that added style and edginess, and a simple black handbag to carry all your party essentials!

As for accessories, I think Autumn/Winter is the perfect time to be piecing large, bold statement necklaces with simple outfits to stand out in the crowd! I've chosen this beautiful turquoise beaded necklace to add a pop of colour and some vibrancy to this solely monochrome outfit, and some cute, simple metal toned open arrow bracelets for some extra sparkle!

Molecule 01*

12:00 Laura Thornberry 2 Comments

Today, I have the opportunity to share with you all a fragrance that is very unique, and something I hadn't heard of before, which made me want to read up on what Molecule 01 actually is.

"Molecule 01 contains only the aroma-chemical Iso E Super, which, on its own, is less of a fragrance than an effect. The wearer may notice a subtle, velvety, woody note which will vanish, then re-surface after some time. More than this, she or he will notice the impact the fragrance has on other people, because Molecule 01 lends an indefinable allure to the wearer. In fact, its effect is almost pheromonic."

After some extra research, I have discovered that Molecule 01 was devised in 2005  by the German perfumer Geza Schoen. It’s a unisex fragrance made by a company called Escentric Molecule, with a scent is based on one main ingredient and is designed to work with pheromones in your skin.

From only containing the aroma of one chemical, I am assuming its supposed to be more of a non-perfume sort of scent for people who don’t want the obvious smell of perfume. Something that really intrigued me about this product, is that the fragrance smells different on different people, I'm guessing this is something that enhances our "natural scent".

This fragrance would be a gorgeous gift for anyone, whether it be for Christmas or not. You can purchase this fragrance here!

Have you heard of this fragrance before? Have you tried it? Is this something that would appeal to you?

Review - Rimmel Colour Rush

14:59 Laura Thornberry 14 Comments

After a number of recent fashion based posts, I thought I would publish a little cheeky beauty review of something I purchased recently via the Superdrug website. The Rimmel Colour Rush Balms are something I had never seen or heard about before, so I opted to pick one up to try and so far I absolutely love it! I've always been a fan of Rimmel Products and this colour lip balm hasn't disappointed! The balm is lovely and applies really nice and smoothly, allowing you to build up as much colour as you want. If you're someone who doesn't have a lot of time to apply make up or not a fan of lipstick or glosses, this Rimmel Colour Rush is something you should definitely try out! They come in a range of lovely colours and this particular balm to me smells like vanilla and white chocolate... DELICIOUS!

Swatch

The colour is a beautiful raspberry berry red colour, that would suit most skin tones, and be suitable for everyday wear as its not too overpowering and bright. Its a perfect lip colour for a subtle lip, but can be built up to become more bold and vibrant!

You can purchase the Rimmel Colour Rush at Superdrug here.
RRP - £5.99

Have you tried the Rimmel Colour Rush yet? Does this product look like something you would use/buy? Have you tried anything similar?

Get Autumn/Winter Ready with Persunmall

14:59 Laura Thornberry 12 Comments

For today's post, I have created an outfit via Persunmall, sharing with you a gorgeous Autumn/Winter evening creation from there best selling items. I have only recently discovered Persunmall and really love what they have to offer! A large range of womens' clothing, jewellery, accessories and shoes; definitely something for everyone! The outfit I have put together is quite simple but stylish, a very formal occasion creation, something that is perfect for this time of year! I've styled this outfit based on the monochrome trend that is still going strong and available everywhere, and added a little splash of Autumn colour with the burgundy.

So for my A/W inspired outfit, I have teamed up this gorgeous burgundy Retro Hearts Printed Shirt that just screams autumn to me. Burgundy is very on trend at the moment, and the heart pattern on the shirt is just so cute and girly, but adding the leather Sweet High-Waisted Frilly Skirt adds that bit of grunge to the outfit and giving it that added edge.

Adding a black Candy Color Slim Fit Suit and a pair of FIFI Strass Platform Pump Black for a definite formal look, as well as to add some elegance and class. Finally, to complete this outfit look, I have included this gorgeous statement monochrome Smile Face Handbag/Shoulder Bag and a simple yet sophisticated Europe Retro Rhinestone Link Bracelet for that touch of sparkle!

Have you shopped at Persunmall before? Do you like this A/W outfit I have put together? Where would you wear this too? Would you style any of the items differently?

This outfit is a very simple and stylish autumn/winter creation that could be a staple outfit for anybody's wardrobe. I've kept the outfit very neutral and added some gorgeous floral high tops to create a bold colourful statement. I also love acid wash skinnies, and found these grey ones to look amazing, and the studded collar on the jumper adds that sparkle and elegance to the outfit.

Legally Glam Blogger Style Challenge

16:44 Laura Thornberry 4 Comments

So I was contacted by Legally Glam through Twitter, who are currently running a blogger style challenge where you can win this gorgeous pink satchel from Ollie & Nic, that is definitely perfect for Autumn/Winter. The competition is to share how you would style a satchel bag, if you were going on a shopping trip in London with my friends.

For this blogger style challenge, I've opted for quite a simple, casual and comfortable look, featuring a totally monochrome outfit with some statement accessories which is perfect for an everyday look with some added city chic.

For outerwear, I've chosen this gorgeous Ebay Leather Jacket that I think would be perfect for an everyday shopping trip in London. Leather is definitely a huge fashion trend at the moment, and for me leather jackets are a definite wardrobe essential, that just give any outfit that casual vibe, as well as a slight grungy edge!

I've chosen this simple Topshop Lace Scallop Cami which is just so simple and cute and teamed this top with a pair of New Look Black Skinny Jeans, to add that casual, relaxed look to this outfit. Black skinny jeans are a total wardrobe essential, as they are such a versatile piece of clothing that is easy to style up or down. Then completing this outfit perfect for a shopping trip with some Converse Trainers, which still encompass the monochrome look, as well as being a very stylish and practical piece of footwear for a day of shopping in the city!

Finally, to glam up this outfit ready for the city, I've chosen to include this beautiful statement New Look Grid Chain Necklace for a bit of sophistication and sparkle. No outfit is complete without a bit of lipstick and I think this MAC Odyssey Lipstick is the perfect accompanying colour to go with this absolutely stunning Ollie & Nic Pink SatchelAnd there we have it, this is what my perfect outfit would consist of for a shopping trip in London!

What's your thoughts on the outfit I have put together for this blogger challenge? Which items are you favourite? Would you purchase any of them?

Top 10 Hair Care Tips

16:30 Laura Thornberry 1 Comments

I've decided to write about something slightly different from my usual fashion or beauty related posts, and share with you some of my hair care tips. Looking after your hair doesn't have to be a time consuming, expensive and a laborious task, as simple tips and tricks can help minimise weak, damaged hair from everyday wear and tear. As I am someone with long, thick hair, it can be difficult to maintain and keep looking its best, but using some of the following tips helps to keep my locks in the best condition. I've also included a few of my own personal recommendations of products that I have tried or using at the moment, that I really love and think help to keep my own hair looking strong and healthy.

1. Protect Hair Against Heat
Protecting your hair from the likes of blow drying and straightening are a must for healthy hair. Without any form of defence, the hair is subject to breakage and splitting, a definite no no! Heat Sprays are essential to keep hair away from damage and burning, and are a must for anyone using any for of heat styling!

2. Use A Good Shampoo and Conditioner Suitable For Your Hair Type
Using a good shampoo and conditioner suitable for your hair is a general must! This tip allows you to focus on your hair and make sure you're buying the right products. Most brands offer a selection of products that cater for all hair types, for example dry, damaged, coloured, long, frizzy etc.
I'd Recommend: Aussie

3. Don't Let Split Ends Spoil Your Hair
Split ends occur from everyday wear and tear, and can have your hair not looking its best. With visits to the hair dressers being pricey, using a split ends treatment can keep them minimised and disguised for that little bit longer. These treatments contain proteins that help to repair and rebuild the hair, helping to maintain luscious locks!

4. Don't Tie Hair Up Too Tightly
This tip may come as a bit of a surprise to some of you, but tying hair up too tightly encourages damage and breakage to existing hair, as well as growing hair. This also can lead to weak and damaged hair that no one wants!
I'd recommend: Metal Free Hairbands

5. Have A Good Hairbrush
Having a good hairbrush is an essential part of maintaining beautiful healthy hair. When picking a hair brush, go for one that good at tackling everyday tangles, as tugging on hair causes breakage and damage. Also, brushing from the ends helps keep hair healthy and damage free, as this helps to ease out an tangles.

6. Pamper Your Hair With A Weekly Hair Mask/Treatment
Using a weekly hair mask or treatment helps to give your hair a boost from everyday wear and tear. Most of these contain various proteins that help to repair and reconstruct hair, leaving it looking healthy and shiney, and feeling soft and smooth.
Herbal Essence Bee Strong Rinse Off Intensive Mask
               Dove Treatment Intense Mask

7. Let Your Hair Dry Naturally When You Can
Letting your hair dry naturally helps maintain and protect your hair, as you are using no heat. After a shower or bath, give your hair a quick pat and squeezing the hair gently between the towel. Avoid rubbing and pulling, as this causes damage and breakage. If you need to use a blow dryer, try letting hair dry naturally for as long as possible, and try to limit the temperature and time spent drying.

8. Get Hair Trimmed Regularly
Whilst you can minimise the sight of split ends, getting your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks is an essential stage in maintaining healthy hair. You can do this yourself, just getting some sharp scissors and trimming slightly above your split ends, saving yourself a trip to the hairdressers, as well as some money!

9. Washing With Warm/Cool Water
The use of warm water naturally open the pores of your scalp, which is great for removing the oil and any dirt. The use of cool water helps to add shine and to seal in the hairs moisture. Avoid using Hot/Cold water as these can be damaging to your hair. Hot water strips your hair of its natural oils and also cause hair to become frizzy, meanwhile cold water can leave your hair looking quite flat. Whilst cleansing and washing your hair use warm water, not hot. You don’t want to burn your skin and your scalp. When you’re ready to rinse out the conditioner, use cool water for a final rinse.

10. Maintain A Healthy Diet for Healthy Hair
Having a healthy diet will ensure and help to prolong better-looking, better-feeling hair. A diet packed with protein, vitamin C, iron, zinc and omega 3, are all helpful in keeping hair damage free and healthy!

Which hair products do you currently use? Did you find any of these tips useful? What tips do you already use? Which tips have you learnt from today's post? Are there any hair care products you'd recommend?
