So over a month ago now, I recently responded to a tweet from the team at MTDermaroller, asking for bloggers who are interested in testing out one of there rollers for review purposes. As this is a product that is completely new to me and something I had never heard/seen before, I jumped at the chance and emailed them.

Later that day, the lovely Kaia, from the Dermaroller team responded to my email and we took it from there. Kaia asked me a few questions about why and where I would use the Dermaroller and explained a little bit about it and how to use it. She then went on to tell me it's good for skin rejuvenation, improving skin care product absorption, treating acne scars, stretch marks.

Above are the goodies that Kaia had sent to me to try out and review!

The 1.0 mm MT Dermaroller Benefits..
Removes wrinkles
Reduces acne scars
Reduces Stretch Marks & Cellulite
Improves the appearance of uneven skin tone
Reduces ageing spots & hyper-pigmentation
Prevents further ageing & rejuvenates skin
Smooths skin texture & reduces open pores
Improves the absorption & effectiveness of skin care products

After discussing with Kaia what I would be using this product for, she recommended and kindly sent me the 1.0 mm dermaroller, which arrived a week later and I couldn't wait to start using it. Yes, I am aware that is does look slightly scary and painful to use, but I can guarantee it's not as menacing as it looks!

"Roll your skin with 1.0 mm MT Dermaroller once a month & you’ll reduce wrinkles, rejuvenate skin, smooth uneven skin tone & remove acne scars. MT Dermaroller has fine medical grade stainless steel needles. It comes pre-sterilized so you don’t have to disinfect it before the first use. Dermaroller is hermetically sealed & includes a plastic container box for safe storing of the dermaroller between rolling sessions."

Before my first use of this, the idea of 200 1.0mm needles running across my skin did freak me out a little, but in all honesty its not as bad as it looks and sounds! I used the Dermaroller once coming out of the bath/shower, when my skin was cleansed and moisturised. . The instructions for this advise you to roll the Dermaroller 10 times vertically, then 10 times horizontally and finally 10 times diagonally in both directions, to help aid skin rejuvenation and repair. The whole process of using this in one sitting lasts for about 15-20 minutes, it can feel a little weird and uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say its very painful.

I did notice your skin can look a little red after use, so I would probably advise to use this product in the evening, so your skin can recover overnight from the pressure of the needles. I do know that results wont be seen overnight, so this is a product you have to keep persevering with, so I shall let you all know how I get on!

Along, with the Dermaroller itself, Kaia also sent me 4 face sheet masks, which I had no clue about so this was a lovely surprise! I received the following masks.

"Our sheet masks are fruit fiber sheets which are pre-cut into the shape of your face and soaked in liquid essences that are made to treat your skin. Sheet masks are cut to fit the contour of your face with holes to protect your face’s most sensitive parts – i.e. the eyes, lips, and nostrils. Sheet masks are very effective in delivering nutrients to the skin due to its close skin contact. Depending on the essences used, sheet masks typically provide intense hydration and nourishment, and help to repair damaged skin cells. Sheet masks come prepackaged in foil pouches to keep them moist and sterile. Use and application is easy and effortless. Tear open the foil, remove the mask, unfold, remove the carrier and apply to your face."

I have used a couple of these since receiving them, and yes they do look quite scary, but they are so calming and soothing on the skin! There very relaxing to apply to your face and packed full of lovely ingredients, ready for your skin to soak up! After use, my skin definitely felt a lot softer and smoother, as well as looking for radiant and clear!

Apologies for the scary face mask selfie ;)

If you've never heard of a Dermaroller before then I would advise you go check them out! We all know skin problems don't clear overnight so if you're willing to persevere with something, this is definitely worth a shot!

  1. Many people still confused about using derma roller as they it is not a scientific and medically established way. But I have found thousands of real users saying how they affected and helped by using a derma roller. Also we can learn a lot about this from hundreds of derma roller reviews created by original people not fake. I have also experienced it highly for removing hyperpigmentaion and acne scars.
