So yet another haul! I promise this isn't just from one trip! So after sorting through all my make up bits and bobs, and throwing some bits away that had been in my bag a little too long, I thought it was time I push the boat out and try some new things and experiment with some new colours, I'm looking at you Topshop lip colours! They are very out of my comfort zone, so I'm looking forward to giving them a whirl this spring/summer. I've also managed to get my hands on a few skincare bits that I've wanted to try and test, so look forward to some reviews of those. Then a few repurchases, including the Garnier Micellar Water which I absolutely love and so does my skin, and the Primark cotton pads because they are so cheap and handy to have!

Primark Twin Pack Cosmetics Pads £1

What beauty products have you been buying lately? What are your favourite bits for Spring/Summer? What make up brand is your favourite? Have you previously purchased or reviewed anything I have featured today?

Here's just a quick little OOTD I have put together. This is just a simple, everyday kinda casual look, which features in most of my OOTD's, as this is more of my style. I have featured a new top which I ordered from Select Fashion, and I was so super happy when it arrived. Its just so loose and comfortable and perfect for throwing on when you don't know what to wear. I also got it in black too! I love it!

Studded Leather Jacket - Ebay
Quilted Shoulder White Top - Select Fashion
Dark Acid Wash Skinny Jeans - Primark
Black Trainers - Primark
Swallow Necklace - New Look

What do you think of this outfit? Where would you wear it to?

So I haven't done a fashion haul in a while and I thought as it is coming to Spring, this would be the perfect time to show you some of the things I have been buying. I'm the kinda girl who doesn't wear much colour and usually stick to just plain white, blue, black or grey. Boring I know! So I have picked up a few things that I think will become staples in my spring/summer wardrobe and help me to add some style and vibrancy to my outfits. Some of these things are from way back in December, and some of them are more recent purchases, so if they are still available, I shall leave a link to them!

Primark Blue Acidwash Super Skinny Jeans - £11
Dorothy Perkins Monochrome Fitted Top - £6.40 (sale)
Next Cream Jumper with Collar - £22 (Christmas present)
New Look Grey and Cream Cable Knit Oversized Jumper - £8
Primark Pastel Blue Necklace - £3

What have you been buying recently? What stores do you most likely shop in? Which of my items would suit your fashion preferences?

Springtime Stunners

13:00 Laura Thornberry 0 Comments

With the weather getting that little bit warmer and the spring season coming into blossom, it’s time to dig out those pretty dresses and ditch the warm jumpers and woolly tights! The sun is starting to shine and it's nearly time to get them legs out, and what better way than with a gorgeous dress! I've had a little browse at 3 top high street shops and this post will show you my favourites and how I would style them! I've tried to keep all the dresses very different and versatile, so you can wear them in the day or night!

New Look have been getting it oh so right at the moment, and they had such a lovely variety of dresses to choose from, this was a toughie, but what I have chosen I think are perfect for spring!

Firstly, this gorgeous pastel blue skater dress is just a simple yet stylish wardrobe staple, that you can style up or down and still look stunning. What says springtime more than pastels? For a casual daytime look, I would style this with a simple white cardigan and a pair of black sandals/pumps, as well as a girly little necklace. For a more dressed up evening look, a black blazer is a must! This gives the dress a more classy and sophisticated vibe, teamed with some heels or wedges for that added height, finished of with a chunky statement necklace!

Secondly from New Look, is this simple yet statement monochrome Spot Print Dress. Monochrome is such a timeless trend, meaning this dress with always be on-trend and perfect all year round! For a daytime look, I would team this cute dress with a pair of trainers to add that casual vibe to the outfit! For a more evening appropriate outfit, I would team with a leather jacket, some wedges and a bold red lip!

Next up we have some gorgeous pieces from Topshop! From time to time, Topshop can be a little hit and miss depending on your personal style, but what I have found are pieces that would suit any occasion!

Firstly, can we just admire how damn pretty and perfect this first dress is! Yes it is a little 'out there' and bold, but I think styled in the right way, you could be on to a winner! The small cut outs on the sides show off that perfect amount of flesh without being too revealing. For a casual look, I would simply team this dress with a simple pair of flats too keep that girly, pretty vibe to the outfit. Dressing it up with a chunky pair of cut out boots and a sparkly silver necklace would be the perfect partnership for this vibrant piece!

Then we have this simple black bodycon. Everyone needs a LBD in there wardrobe and I think this could be a perfect work dress as well as a casual/formal piece. Bodycon's don't always suit every body shape/size, but if they're something you like, a black one is a definite! For a daytime work/casual look, I would simply team this up with a pair of pretty colour flats/sandals for a more relaxed vibe, maybe finished with a nude pink or peachy lip. For a dressed up vibe, I would choose a pair of coloured or printed heels, a red bold lip and a statement jacket!

Finally, I've chosen a couple of pieces from River Island. I don't often shop in River Island, but whilst browsing the website, you do often come across a couple of gems and I think these 2 dresses are perfect.

Firstly is this monochrome Checked Print Dress which I think is absolutely stunning. Checks is currently on trend so this would be a perfect staple to embrace the print. The t-shirt fit makes the dress slightly loose and baggy, perfect for those who don't feel comfortable and confident in tight, fitted frocks. I think this dress would look great in the day with a pair of converse or vans, for that casual springtime look. Then an evening outfit would consist of a pair of bold coloured wedges/chunky boots and a chunky statement necklace to add the sparkle!

Secondly is this very girly and bright Pink T-shirt Dress, which is just a gorgeous shade for the spring/summer. This dress is definitely for the girly girl and those who want to stand out in the crowd! For a daytime look, I would team this with a simple pair of sandals or flats and a plain cardigan, so you can let the dress do the talking! For an evening look, you could take this dress in so many directions, but I think a pair of black heels, a statement necklace and a black blazer, and you're sure to be the centre of attention!

So whatever your style, trend or colour preferences, hopefully you have found something in this post that you would absolutely love to rock this springtime! I've tried to vary the colours, shapes and fits of the dresses, to make this post useful to a wider range of people.

Which dress is your favourite? How would you style it? Where do you normally shop on the high street?

Review - La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+*

13:00 Laura Thornberry 1 Comments

"Target the key signs of oily and blemish-prone skin with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+], a complete skincare solution that eliminates acne marks from the moment they start to form.

This non-sticky, melt-in formula is clinically proven to correct the appearance of blemishes, while unclogging blocked pores, controlling shine and refining the skin’s texture. Anti-inflammatory Niacinamide intensely soothes, while LHA and Salicylic Acid gently exfoliate the surface of the skin. Suitable for even the most sensitive skin, the formula accelerates the skin’s repair process."

As I've recently really wanted to change up my skincare routine and incorporate some new products to help clear up and help improve the condition of my skin, when the lovely team at Escentual gave me the opportunity to test out the new La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ *, I jumped at the chance as I had heard so many great reviews of this product and the brand is something I haven't tried before, but I know they are well raved about in the blogosphere!

Now I wouldn't say my skin is awfully bad, I have normal to oily skin, from time to time I do suffer with spots and blemishes, as well as a few red patches, so when I received this in the post, it arrived in my time off need! A definite miracle! Most skincare products to take while to get working and for you skin to adjust and get used to, but the Effaclar Duo seemed to have visible effects after the first week, which I was super impressed with! Since then, I've been using the Effaclar Duo+ for around 3 weeks now and it has definitely improved any imperfections and the general appearance of my skin. My skin looks and feel a lot more smooth, my redness has reduced considerably and any blemish marks are slowly becoming less visible.

"The best selling Duo formula has now been enhanced with Procerad, a patented Ceramide that rebuilds the skin’s surface and prevents the red and brown pigmentation marks left behind by acne. This key ingredient reduces inflammation and the proliferation of hyper-pigmentation, which can become permanent if left untreated."

The product is quite a lightweight gel like cream consistency that applies so smoothly and absorbs into the skin so quickly. It has a lovely clean and fresh scent which I really like, as I have found some similar products to have quite an off putting scent which can be slightly overwhelming and overpowering. I've been using this product after cleansing my skin, both day and night, and then following with a moisturiser, which seems to be working well for my skin. It really is a delight to use, and a definite repurchase item in my skincare staples.

If you're someone who suffers from redness, spots and blemishes or uneven skin tone, I cannot recommend this product enough. I know a lot of skincare takes a while to get working, but if you want to see gradual result in a shorter space of time than usual products, I would suggest you give this ago as it has done wonders for my skin! This is the first product from La Roche-Posay that I have tried and to be honest, I can't wait to get my hands on some more of what they have to offer! I was also super impressed with the amount of samples Escentual put together with this product, which included various Bioderma goodies, which pretty much every blogger raves about!

Have you tried the Effaclar Duo+? What did you think of the product? Have you tried any other products from La Roche-Posay?

Review - Origins Clear Improvement Mask

The Origins Clear Improvement Mask seems to be a well raved about blogger's favourite product. Origins is a brand that I'd been interested in for a while, and this mask seems to be renowned in the blogging world as a 'holy grail product', but at £22 a tube, to me that did seem like a lot for just a face mask! But you know, as a more "high end" skincare product that I wanted to see what the hype was, I happily parted with the cash in hope it would help unclog and clear my skin! I have combinations skin (dry and oily) so I was hoping that this would be a great addition to my skincare routine and that my skin would love the stuff!

"When environmental pollutants, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature's complexion clean-up crew in Origins Clear Improvement gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental pollutants, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief."

Before purchasing this face mask, I was using the Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask, which I do still use now and again, and really do love. It has similar features to the Origins mask, but sometimes it can be slightly too drying on the skin and can irritate my skin if left on too long, so I opted to try the Origins mask.

Like any normal mask, I simply use this once/twice a week, whilst opening my pores with warm face towel and layering mask on so that my face is evenly covered. I then allow it to dry, where you are at the face cracking tightness stage and then rinse well with water, and cleanse afterwards.
After washing it off, I could really tell the difference due to how my skin feels and looks, even after the first use. My skin felt super clean, extremely soft, and very glowing which really brightened up my usual dull looking skin. I have also seen an improvement in the oiliness of my skin, has definitely reduced, especially around my t-zone, nose and chin, which is a definite bonus!

Overall, I was very pleased with the Origins Clear Improvement mask and can see why so many people rave about the stuff! It is definitely something that has become a staple in my skincare routine, alongside a couple of other masks, but I generally use the Origins one when my skin is really bad or I have a lot of blemishes. At £22 it is a little steep, but a little does go along way with this mask, but if you wanted a similar product on a drugstore budget, I would definitely recommend the Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask, as I love that just as much!

(Here's a little scary photo of what the mask looks like on the face)

Have you used the Origins Clear Improvement Mask before? What did you think of it? Is this a product you have been wanting to try out? Have you used the Boots Botanics Mask?

Review - Pebble Grey LED Cosmetic Mirror*

13:00 Laura Thornberry 0 Comments

When I received an email in my inbox from Pebble Grey asking me if I would like the opportunity to test out and review one of there LED Cosmetic Mirror*, I jumped at the chance. Pebble Grey are a company that specialise in modern and contemporary bathroom mirrors, cabinets and accessories using eco-friendly technology, so this sounded great! My current mirror was a bit worse for wear, pretty dirty and a couple of cracks. Something that should definitely have been binned months ago!

So when my parcel arrived from Pebble Grey, I was super excited! It arrived so beautiful boxed and the packaging looked absolutely stunning and very very expensive! When I opened it, I was greeted by the most amazing little mirror, so small and compact, a perfect travel size mirror, with 6 stunning LED lights to help brighten it up! It comes in a lovely  grey box with a cute velvety pouch bag to keep your mirror safe in your handbag/makeup bag without scratching or damaging, which I think is an amazing extra and something that makes this really appeal to me!

"Our compact LED Cosmetic Mirror is the perfect little gift for that special someone in your life. With it's elegant design and practical lighting it is a must-have essential and the perfect gift or treat for yourself. Beautifully packaged and complete with luxurious velvet pouch this is a useful product that fits easily into your pocket or handbag and is sure to brighten up the day! "

This mirror is perfect for focusing on doing your eyebrows and eye makeup due to the magnification, as well as great for on the go touch up’s, when you need to top up that lipstick or tame those flyaway hairs. This mirror currently RRP's at £19.99 (usually £24.99) and I would definitely recommend you having a little look, as you wont be disappointed!

Have you heard of Pebble Grey before? What are your thoughts on this mirror? Would this be a product that appeals to you?

So this haul may seem a little OTT, but I absolutely love trying out new haircare products and treatments, as keeping long hair is good condition can be very tricky! Many of these haircare items I have purchased or been kindly gifted are products that I haven't tried out before, except for the cheeky Batiste repurchase, as I wanted to venture out and try new brands and treatments for my hair. I always like to have 2 or 3 shampoos on the go, so my hair doesn't get used to a certain product, which could cause excess grease and product build up. A definite no no for lovely locks!

What haircare products have you been buying lately? Is there any brands or treatments you would recommend to me? What is your favourite haircare brand?
