Savoury Snacks for Xmas Party

Every year in my family, it has become a simple tradition that on Christmas Eve, we all contribute to making a super tasty buffet for our dinner. With plenty of hot and cold dishes, salads, crisps and dips, drinks and desserts. There is so much food to go through! For today's post, I just wanted to share with you a few of my favourite savoury party foods, in hope it could give you some inspiration if you have an upcoming Christmas party.

1. Antipasti Platter
For me, Antipasti is a winner for all parties, not just for Christmas. Filling a huge platter full of cured meats, cheeses, roasted vegetables, pickles, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, chutneys, and so much more, there is something here for everyone to enjoy!

2. Chicken Skewers
Chicken Skewers are a great addition to a Christmas Party buffet as you can create so many different types, allowing you a huge selection of different flavours and marinades. Again, something for everyone. Some of my favourites would include Lemon and Herb, Pesto, Peri Peri and Garlic, Yogurt and Coriander!

3. Vol Au Vents
Now Vol Au Vents may not be something you will be familiar with, but they are a simple snack that you can make a couple hours ahead of the party. If you didn't know, these are little puff pastry cases that you can fill with a variety of fillings. Usually my mum would make Prawn Cocktail and Egg Mayo, but you could also have Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, Creamy Garlic Mushrooms or simple Roast Vegetables

4. Spring Rolls
Another of my absolute favourites would be Spring Rolls. Whether you have Duck, Chicken, Prawn or Vegetable Spring Rolls, these make a quick and easy to make dish for your buffet table. Make sure to have some Sweet Chilli sauce for dipping!

5. Bruschetta
Finally we have the Italian Bruschetta. In simple words, toasted bread with a topping. It's as easy as that, but you can make them look super fancy and tasty, depending on what you use to top them. My favourites would be Mozzarella Cheese, Tomatoes and Basil, with a drizzle of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar with a little seasoning.

Hopefully this short post has given you some inspiration to what dishes you can create for your Christmas Party buffet. Let me know which is your favourite!
