GUEST POST | Treadmills are a fantastic way to stay fit, and having access to one in the comfort of your own home can be a real game changer for your workout routines. Unfortunately, their noise can be disturbing for others. This may not be an issue for some, but many of us have neighbours, housemates or live in flats with other residents above and below us. Whether it's the thumping of feet or the hum of the motor, making use of your treadmill might result in a few complaints from others.

It might not be something you'd immediately think of, but there are various options for soundproofing your treadmill, making your workouts more enjoyable and less intrusive. Presented by AcousticShop, the experts in soundproofing for walls and floors, this handy guide offers tips and tricks for DIY enthusiasts and fitness buffs to reduce treadmill noise.

treadmill

Locate The Source
Treadmill noise often comes from three primary sources; the sound of feet impacting the treadmill deck, the hum and vibrations of the treadmill's motor and the vibrations carried through the floor and walls. There are steps you can take to reduce the sound from each of these sources.

Soundproof Your Treadmill
Use a treadmill mat. Treadmill mats help to prevent transferral of shocks and vibrations from the treadmill to the floor, which aids in lowering the overall noise. Spending the right amount on these will increase the likelihood of getting hold of a high quality and effective mat constructed of dense materials like rubber or foam.

Place the Treadmill on Carpet
There's no harm in doubling up to reduce noise, and a thick carpet underneath a treadmill mat can reduce noise even further - whether it's a fully carpeted floor or a rug. Once again, carpets and rugs absorb sound and lessen vibrations, providing an additional layer of insulation.

Use Isolation Pads
AS the name suggests, isolation pads - sometimes referred to as anti-vibration pads - are designed to isolate and absorb vibrations. Placing these pads under the treadmill's feet can greatly reduce the noise transferred to the floor below.

Lubricate the Treadmill Belt
As with any piece of motorised technology, your treadmill needs to be looked after. Regular lubrication of the treadmill's belt reduces friction, lowering both motor noise and the sound of the belt moving. Before you reach for the WD40, it's best to follow your treadmill manufacturer's recommendations for what you should use for the job, and how often you should use it.

Soundproof the Room
Some might consider this overkill, but you could take steps to increase the effectiveness of your efforts by soundproofing the entire room. Again, this might be a little too far for most, especially if you only have the treadmill, but if you have other equipment like weights or a rowing machine, this might be worth considering.

Fixing some acoustic panels to the room's walls is a great place to start, but you could also consider adding weatherstripping around doors or using heavy, sound-absorbing curtains to reduce noise.

Use a Treadmill Quiet Kit
Some manufacturers offer kits designed to reduce treadmill noise, which typically include isolation pads, lubricants, and quieter belts.

Change your Running Habits
Running barefoot or with lightweight shoes can greatly lessen impact noise when compared to heavier footwear. Additionally, though it might seem obvious, you'll want to pick the best times to jump on your treadmill; not everyone enjoys late nights or early mornings. Running on an incline also makes less noise compared to running on a flat surface.

If noise is still an issue, think about switching to quieter training equipment like ellipticals or exercise bikes, which generally make less noise. But, if you're dead set on using a treadmill at home, these soundproofing methods will help you create a more enjoyable training environment while still maintaining harmony with your family and neighbours.

AD| Are you looking to get fitter, eat better and just lead a more healthy lifestyle? Do you find major diet changes overwhelming? What not start small and simple?

Creating a more maintainable, healthier lifestyle doesn't mean you have to make a number of drastic changes to your current routine. Instead of making many big changes all at once, it may be better to start with a few smaller ones. This way, it’s more manageable, and you're more likely to continue for a longer period of time. Not only can these changes improve your health and fitness, it can also reduce your risk of chronic diseases and illnesses. Below, I have compiled a list of 8 simple ways to make healthier lifestyle choices, and a number of them I have incorporated into my daily life.

lifestyle

1. The Perfect Bed Setup
Sleep is a vital and important aspect of everyday life, and honestly, who doesn't love to sleep? Having good quality sleep helps your body to re-energise, refresh and heal itself. The average adult needs between 7 and 9 hours sleep to be fully rested. It's also beneficial to get your body into a good sleeping routine, by going to sleep/waking up at similar times each day. The key to a good sleep is by making sure your bed is comfortable, with a supportive mattress and pillows.

Another important factor to mention is bed height. You want to be able to get in and out of bed easily, and this will help keep your bed accessible at all times. The sleep-tech brand Simba have a great article regarding this, where they discuss 'how high should my bed be', and is definitely an interesting read!

2. Keep Hydrated
Water makes up a large percentage of the body, and without enough of the stuff, dehydration can set in, as well as a dry mouth, tiredness, and headaches. Your body predominantly uses water in cells, organs, and tissues - helping to regulate body temperature and other bodily functions. It's also important to keep hydrated through physical activity and even through illness to ensure hydration levels topped up, as water can be lost through sweat, breath and getting rid of waste products from the body.

3. Stay Stress Free
Having stress that builds up over time can cause some serious issues, such as acne and high blood pressure. For those struggling with stress, taking CBD gummies - maybe those from Joy Organics are a great supplement to take, and could be a good option for stress management and sleep support, as well as to help you relax from your chaotic day. Great ways of managing stress include exercise, relaxation, meditation, and even taking a warm bubble bath can help you unwind.

4. Get A Good Breakfast
Breakfast has always been considered to be one of "the most essential meals of the day", and usually frowned upon if you skip it. By ensuring to eat a good breakfast every morning, you're allowing your body to gain energy, kick-start your metabolism, increase your alertness levels, as well as consuming essential vitamins and nutrients required for good health and wellbeing.

healthy diet

5. Get Your 5-A-Day
Fruit and vegetables are a vital part of a consuming a healthy, balanced diet and can help you stay feeling fit and healthy. It's important that you eat enough of these to ensure your body is getting the nutrients it needs for daily bodily functions. Incorporating plenty of fruit and vegetables in your diet can help keep your body feel fitter, healthier and happier. The benefits of consuming plenty of fruit and vegetables includes getting plenty of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. These can reduce the risk of serious health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and obesity.

6. Avoid Harmful Pollutants
We should probably try to avoid temptation of any drugs or pollutants that could be harmful to our bodies, or at least try to reduce the amounts we consume, e.g. alcohol in moderation, cut down on tobacco etc. Doing this is good for our bodies, where there are fewer toxins circulating our systems, reducing the risk of certain diseases.

7. A Healthy, Balanced Diet
Making healthy lifestyle choices is all about balance and moderation. A balanced diet is definitely a vital part of maintaining good health, can help control your weight, increase your energy levels, and can also boost how you feel. This change in your diet and lifestyle can be something you work on over a more long-term period. You'll be able to incorporate eating a wide variety of foods into your diet, making sure you're consuming the correct amounts, and not over-eating. Make sure to include produce from all food groups including carbohydrates, fats, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, grains, and protein. Even if you're looking to lose weight through your new lifestyle changes, it's also important not to restrict yourself from what you really like - a takeaway or a glass of wine once in a while won't hurt!

8. Follow A Regular Exercise Routine
Taking part in regular exercise is probably one of the best things you can do for your overall health. Some positive benefits of exercise include managing and maintaining a healthy body weight, building muscle and reducing your risk of diseases. As well as these, exercise can also be used to help boost your mood, improve your mental health, and can even help you get a better night of sleep. A top tip for beginning your exercise routine is to pick something you enjoy and that challenges you. Exercise can be made to be fun, which will be a critical factor for how long you keep it up, helping you to continue your routine for a longer period of time, allowing you to achieve your fitness goals.

Have you made any lifestyle changes recently? Are you looking to get fitter and feel healthier?

In our fast-paced world, it's easy for men to overlook the importance of self-care, especially regarding intimate well-being. However, prioritising intimate self-care use of male masturbator toys is crucial to maintaining overall health and wellness. This comprehensive guide will explore the various dimensions of intimate self-care tailored specifically for men, shedding light on practices contributing to physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Whether exploring solo pleasures or enhancing partnered experiences, incorporating these tools can be a fulfilling aspect of a holistic approach to men's intimate health.

male self care

Hygiene Matters
The foundation of intimate self-care starts with basic hygiene practices. Regular cleansing with a mild, pH-balanced soap helps maintain a healthy balance of bacteria while preventing infections and discomfort. Choosing breathable fabrics for underwear and changing them daily is equally important in preventing irritation and ensuring a comfortable environment.

Grooming Rituals
Beyond basic hygiene, grooming plays a significant role in intimate self-care. Regular trimming of pubic hair can reduce the risk of infections and enhance overall hygiene. Choosing grooming products specifically designed for sensitive areas is essential to avoid irritation and maintain a neat and clean appearance.

Nutrition and Hydration
A well-balanced diet directly impacts overall health, including intimate well-being. Proper nutrition promotes blood flow, supports hormonal balance, and contributes to the overall health of reproductive organs. Staying hydrated is equally crucial, as it helps flush toxins from the body and ensures optimal bodily functions.

Regular Exercise
Engaging in regular physical activity not only benefits cardiovascular health but also contributes to intimate well-being. Exercise improves blood circulation, boosts energy levels, and can enhance sexual function. Activities like jogging, swimming, or yoga can be particularly beneficial for men looking to prioritise their intimate health.

mens self care

Mental and Emotional Wellness
Intimate self-care extends beyond the physical realm. Mental and emotional well-being is closely connected to intimate health. Stress and anxiety can negatively impact sexual performance and satisfaction. Practices such as mindfulness, meditation, or seeking professional help can be instrumental in managing stress and fostering emotional resilience.

Safe Sexual Practices
Practicing safe sex is a fundamental aspect of intimate self-care. Consistent and correct use of condoms helps prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and contributes to a healthy, intimate life. Open communication with partners about sexual health and boundaries is equally important for a fulfilling and safe experience.

Regular Health Check-ups
Routine health check-ups are essential for monitoring and maintaining intimate health. Regular screenings for STIs, prostate health checks, and discussions with healthcare professionals can help detect and address potential issues early on, ensuring optimal intimate well-being.

Prioritising intimate self-care is an investment in overall health and happiness. By incorporating these practices into your routine, you are taking proactive steps towards maintaining a healthy and fulfilling intimate life. Remember, intimate well-being is an integral part of your overall well-being, and by embracing these habits, you're on the path to a healthier and more satisfying life.

GUEST POST | Everyone is more acutely aware of their well-being today. The coronavirus set society on a high alert, and now people are watchful for any signs, symptoms, and causes of illness. Of course, illness does not predictably roll around and doesn’t necessarily abide by a schedule. Often, sickness can seem to come down to little more than a harsh bout of bad luck.

There are many prevention methods to employ, but over a lifetime, everyone is bound to get ill at one stage or another. Still, a degree of preparation work can help with illness. If you take the right steps, health problems may be less debilitating and dismissed much sooner. Here are some tips to help you prepare for unexpected health problems.

sickness

Stock up Proportionately
The prospect of illness can drive many people into a fretful frenzy. For example, they may seek to buy more medicines than they feasibly need. The coronavirus spurred people to buy more goods, and the pandemic is yet to be fully conquered. Therefore, it’s important to be mindful. While having more drugs in the house might seem like a good idea at first, it can make things harder for you. Your spending might unnecessarily skyrocket when the cost of living is high enough already. Moreover, your cupboards may become overcrowded and disorganised with different pills you may or may not need.

Try to have enough medications at home so that you are covered if illness strikes at highly inconvenient times, such as in the middle of the night. Don’t buy enough that you think could set you up for life, but just for little blips of ailments in your usual routine. Once that rocky period of unexpected illness has subsided, you can then head to the doctor or your pharmacy the next day to buy more (but still a proportionate amount) of what you need. Stock up on more than medicines too. Hand sanitisers, cleaning disinfectants, and healthy food and drink ranges can make a positive difference when an illness is floating around.

Review Insurance Arrangements
Illness might be unexpected, but your response to it shouldn’t be. Insurance coverage can determine how fast you can respond to sickness. It’s worth regularly reviewing your circumstances here. For example, Circle Health Group provide a wealth of information and resources on private health insurance. They explain that if you need a specialist for treatment, you can activate your private health cover and then use it to pay for treatment at one of their private hospitals. Read their simple three-step process of speaking to your GP, calling their appointments' advisor line, and speaking to your insurer for more assurances and information.

Knowing that you have private insurance can be an enormous comfort. Of course, not everybody can afford the full range of benefits, but you can tinker with what you’d like covered so that it aligns with your budget. Your workplace may also have policies that cover you. Make some enquiries, get clued in, and see what type of private healthcare you might be eligible for.

SICKNESS

It’s important to remain informed across all aspects of your health. Building your knowledge means you streamline your preventative measures and tailor your countermeasures. Coronavirus isn’t over yet. While the consensus indicates the worst is probably over, covid continues to evolve and develop numerous strains that affect each sufferer differently. Consequently, it’s important to be mindful of things such as this and not underestimate coronavirus just because it appears to be in the news a little less.

Of course, balance is required here. If you worry too much, you may start to develop hypochondriac qualities. Be cautious and informed rather than anxious and hysterical, and you’ll be in a better position to judge which health-related measures are appropriate in your life. Ensure that you source all of your information from reputable outlets, too. Peer-reviewed resources from medical journals will suit your purposes, as will the NHS website and some reports from credible mainstream media outlets. Conduct some wider reading without consuming misinformation.

Build a Support Network
Pride mustn’t get in the way when it comes to potential illness. A support network is required to ensure you get through these moments as quickly and cleanly as possible. Remember, your loved ones are well positioned to notice any change in your behaviour that might indicate illness. Additionally, they may be willing to stop by when you’re sick and help take care of you. Their attentiveness and affection for you can make a huge difference not only to your physical well-being, but your overall morale too.

You mustn’t just have one person in mind when receiving help. After all, it’s important to be considerate of other people’s time and mindful that everyone is leading their own lives. Try to make life easier for anyone who might help you when you’re ill. Doctor’s contact numbers, draft a proposed schedule, and think about ways you can make requests specific and clear. Share your feelings and gratitude, and state your intentions to return favours when you’re better.

How do you prepare for unexpected health problems?

GUEST POST| Most of us recognise the importance of self-care, but when it comes to creating a daily self-care routine, we often struggle. Although you may need to juggle different priorities and responsibilities at once, this typically means that your own needs are left at the bottom of your to-do list. Of course, you may consider your occasional salon appointments and gym sessions as self-care.

But in reality, self-care is about implementing regular activities that help you recharge and manage stress. As a result, if you don’t make time for daily self-care, you’re more likely to feel overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and stressed. Within this article, you will find our best tips to make self-care a part of your routine and feel your best every day.

self care

Assess Your Needs
A successful self-care plan should always be tailored to your life and needs. It is best to customise your plan, as it will help you reduce the chance of feeling burned out or overstressed. Therefore, it’s important to assess which areas of your life need attention. Remember that as your situation changes, your self-care, and needs will change as well. It may be beneficial to make a list of the different parts of your life and the main activities you engage in every day. For example, you may list work, school, family, relationships, and others.

Manage Stress Levels
Next, it may be helpful to identify aspects of these areas, that cause you stress and consider some ways to reduce stress levels. For example, you can try using full spectrum CBD oil, provided by The Good Level. If you want to learn about CBD’s ability to relax and manage stress and anxiety, you can find out more here. Moreover, The Good Level uses a traditional cold press method without the use of heat treatments and chemical solvents. As a result, more of the cannabinoids and beneficial plant compounds are kept, making this a natural way of consuming CBD oil.

Keep Your Routine Simple
One of the most important aspects of implementing a successful self-care regime is to adjust your mindset around it. Remember that self-care doesn’t need to be another big thing on your plate, so it’s best to keep your routine simple. It’s advisable to focus on the feeling that self-care gives you and allow that to dictate how you’ll implement it into your days. This process doesn’t have to be lengthy, complicated, or expensive to work. After all, the whole point of creating a self-care regime is to relax and recharge, so be sure to make it as simple as possible so that it can fit into your lifestyle.

Come Up With Self-Care Strategies
It may be useful to think about activities that you can do each day to help you feel better and increase your energy levels. For instance, a simple meditation practice allows you to bring awareness into your daily life. As a result, you’ll be more aware of what your body needs at different times. Also, you may want to consider journaling every day to process your feelings and emotions better. Be sure to incorporate a type of movement into your daily routine, even if it’s just a brisk walk around your neighbourhood. Try experimenting with different activities that light you up and make you happy.

self care

Confront Negativity
Another crucial factor to ensure that self-care works is to combat your negativity, such as negative self-talk and self-doubt. It may be beneficial to write down your thoughts on a piece of paper and confront that with what you know to be true. Putting these thoughts on paper will help you recognise the negative without letting it overpower the positive aspects of your life. Also, to keep things in
perspective, you may want to share your feelings with someone close to you. Make an effort not to ruminate on past mistakes, as this can create a heavy load of negativity.

Stay Flexible
Committing to a self-care routine doesn’t mean that you cannot be flexible with how you implement it. It’s normal for you to have days when it’s easier to practise self-care, and others when it may seem impossible. Things may get in the way sometimes, and that’s an inevitable part of life. However, when this happens, it’s crucial to stay flexible and remember not to be too hard on yourself. Every day is a fresh start to get back to your self-care routine, so you shouldn’t try to make it perfect.

Detox From Technology And Work
Nowadays, we often have our work responsibilities following us everywhere we go thanks to our phones. Therefore, establishing strong boundaries when it comes to work emails, texts, and phone calls is essential. Although limiting your screen time is easier said than done, there are some useful techniques you can implement. For example, you may be able to set a daily limit on your phone or choose a specific time before bed so that you can unwind with a book instead of reading your work emails.

Do you practice daily self-care? What ways do you use in your everyday routine?

GUEST POST| Sleep is as important to our bodies as food and water. It is good for the mind and soul as well as the body. Making an investment in your sleep is investing in you and your health. These five simple ways to invest in your sleeping and get a better night of rest should help you get more from the day.

sleep

Get a Better Bed
The support your body receives is a key component of a restful night of sleep. It is hard to get decent quality, deep sleep if you are tossing and turning when you should be resting.

Your bed is the base for your sleep. Worn or broken beds cost people dozens of hours of sleep a week and many days of sleep over a year. Making an investment in a better bed is worthwhile. It can also be an attractive way to revamp the decor of your bedroom. For designer beds that will help you rest easy at night, check out https://www.denelli.co.uk/. They are an Italian Furniture Store with a massive range of designer beds that can suit any space and style. Many have practical bedroom storage solutions that will help keep your sleeping space tidy.

Invest in a High-Quality Mattress
Once you have the bed sorted, it is time to upgrade your mattress. No matter how supportive and comfortable your bed frame may be, without a decent mattress, you will not get a good sleep.

Mattresses have become big business lately. It is a highly competitive market between online suppliers and traditional brick and mortar bedroom stores. You can reap the rewards of this healthy competition by bagging a great deal on a luxury mattress. There are some things you need to consider when mattress shopping. You should do some research on firmness levels to find the right one for you. People who suffer from joint pain or back problems may need a hard mattress to give their body the extra support it needs during sleep.

Some people prefer a softer mattress that they can sink into a little. This can give a coddling effect that can help soothe and relax you as you fall to sleep. It reminds us of being coddled like a baby and helps our bodies to get into sleep mode. Nothing improves the quality of your sleep better than a well-made mattress.

Make Sleeping an Event
Good sleep requires some thought. With a little planning and preparation, you can get more from your rest and feel energised throughout the day. Get your sleep right, and you will be happier and more productive.

Prepare yourself for sleep and make bedtime an event. Relaxing in the bathtub before bed can help put your mind and body in the mood for rest. Reading is another good plan. This can help clear your mind and push the cares and worries of the day away until morning.

Try not to eat just before bedtime, as this can keep you awake or affect your dreams if you do get to sleep. If your stomach is still doing work while you are trying to rest, you will struggle to drift away. Stay hydrated, though, as this will help your body to relax. Keeping a glass of water or a water bottle by the bed is a good idea.

sleep

Add Exercise to Your Daily Routine
Physical exercise during the day will help you get a better night’s sleep later. Exercising just before bedtime is not recommended as this will energise the body and wake up your muscles. In the hours before bed, a walk should be the limit of your exercise.

Visiting the gym during the day definitely helps get better rest, though. Even if you cannot push yourself to do a full workout every day, some light cardio or lifting should set you up for a good sleep at night. Yoga can help you improve the quality of your sleep too. Many people do not see yoga as exercise, but stretching and working your muscles does strain the body a little. A few poses will get your muscles limber and ready to relax, so a ten or fifteen-minute yoga session before bed can be a worthwhile investment in your sleep.

Tidy Your Room
These three words could be a dreaded chore dished out by parents when you were younger, but they had your best interests at heart. Having a cluttered and untidy bedroom is bad for your sleeping pattern. It is hard to be calm when surrounded by chaos. Spend some time during the day to clear the clutter and organise your sleep space. This is where clever storage in your bed can come in very handy. Try to find a place for everything that needs putting away and create a clean and clutter-free sleep sanctuary.

Following these tips should help you achieve the dream of better sleep. A little time and money can go a long way when you invest them in better rest. Get your sleep sorted now, you will not regret it.

How do you get a better night of sleep?

Private healthcare will get you top-quality healthcare that is just as good as you can expect from the NHS. Many doctors, consultants, nurses, and other healthcare specialists work in both the public and the private sectors. However, what makes the difference between public and private healthcare is that you can often get premium service that is not available on the NHS, such as your own private room for treatment and recovery.

Reduced Waiting Time
Another main benefit of using a private healthcare provider such as Circle Health Group is that there is a much shorter waiting time. When you are paying for your healthcare, you can be prioritised in a way that is simply not available when it comes to publicly funded treatments, which typically have long waiting lists that may even be detrimental to your health in the meantime. Circle Health Group offers a wide range of different healthcare treatments and procedures including general surgery, cancer treatments, knee and hip surgery, and more, with little to no waiting time for patients.

More Choice
Unlike publicly funded healthcare where patients are allocated healthcare providers on a first come, first served basis depending on the treatment that they require, private healthcare offers a larger choice of healthcare professionals to the patient. It may be possible to choose from a list of doctors or surgeons to carry out your treatment, for example.

More Personalised Care
You might have already experienced the common situation where you visit your local GP with a concern and are told to return if your situation doesn’t improve. When you go back, you might have to explain the situation all over again to a different GP. In the public healthcare system, the strain on GP's is huge, meaning that for many it’s impossible for them to get to know their patients or spend as much time with them as they would like. On the other hand, GP's and consultants at private hospitals spend as much time working but see fewer patients, giving them the opportunity to get to know you better and provide a more personalised, one-to-one level of care.

Better Facilities
When you are paying for private healthcare, you will get luxurious and top-class facilities. Unlike the publicly funded healthcare system, private hospitals don’t have a stretched budget holding back comfort. Since they are funded by insurance companies and self-paying clients, they are better able to purchase the newest and best equipment, put money into creating a better and more luxurious environment for their patients, and invest more in employing leading consultants and other healthcare professionals.

Support the NHS
While it might sound counterproductive, getting private healthcare when and if you can, may actually help to support the NHS, which is currently overstretched and overburdened. With the number of patients that are awaiting NHS treatment only expected to grow even further over the next few months and years, if you have health insurance or can afford private healthcare, you can take some strain off the NHS and ensure that it is more available for those who do not have an alternative option.

Are There Any Disadvantages?
As with anything, there are some disadvantages to be aware of when it comes to getting private healthcare in the UK. This includes the cost of insurance or one-off payments. Some insurance plans may not always cover the cost of the treatment for some diseases, illnesses, or injuries, and you will only get what you pay for – the more insurance cover you want, the higher your monthly or annual premium is going to be. Because of this, it’s a good idea to shop around and make sure that you have done your homework when getting private medical insurance. The right medical insurance will cover all or some of your medical bills when you get private healthcare. You may wish to get it in order to use private healthcare for all your medical needs, or as a way to subsidise the care that you can get from the NHS. It is also worth bearing in mind that even if you have private health insurance, you will still be obliged to pay for the NHS out of your taxes.

If you want faster, more personalised healthcare with more luxurious facilities and a bigger choice, there are many benefits of private healthcare to consider.

GUEST POST | Have you ever felt gloomy, sad, and kind of depressed when the seasons change? Have you ever thought that there may be a reason for that?

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression related to changing the seasons. This occurs between the beginning of autumn and winter months for most people. If you've never experienced it, you probably know someone that has. It is one of the most common types of depression. But is it an actual thing, or are people using it as an excuse?

Let's Talk About Being SAD
In most cases, people fall under SAD's umbrella from October to April, in other more minor cases from April to September. Though a rare occasion, some people even experience it all year long. So that brings up the question of authenticity to this so-called depression.

Before that, let's point out the symptoms, which in most cases are:
— Feeling depressed for most of the day
— Losing interest in activities that were fun before that
— Bad sleep
— Less energy
— The overall feeling of lethargy

It may seem that some of these are just excuses to procrastinate and blame the “winter blues” for not wanting to go out of bed. But a further insight on the topic sheds a different light. Let's just put it this way – In more severe cases, there are even worse symptoms, such as finding it hard to concentrate and having suicidal thoughts.

What Can Cause Seasonal Affective Disorder?
Although there is no medical or professional conclusion on the actual cause, there are different opinions. Your biological clock, or circadian rhythm, may be involved. For example, the reduced sunlight in the autumn-winter months may interfere with a person's biological clock. Lack of sunlight may also cause a drop in serotonin levels, leading to depression. The changing of the seasons could affect the melatonin levels in the body that play a significant role in sleep patterns and mood.

A Couple Of Unpopular Opinions
One of the less popular opinions is that SAD may run in the family. Therefore, family members that have struggled with it could pass it on to the next generations, especially if the mother has struggled with SAD throughout pregnancy.

Having bipolar disease could play a significant role in the development of SAD.
Professionals don't place their chips on this theory because bipolar disease is, by itself, a clinical type of depression disease. Last but not least, statistically, SAD occurs in people that live far from the equator. This may be because of the longer summer days and decreased sunlight during the winter.

How To Treat It
Regardless of how severe your specific case is, you should never treat seasonal depression lightly, and you are best off finding means of treating SADness.

Here are some of the best ways to do so:
— Light therapy is the most famous treatment for SAD. It's a bright light that people get exposed to every day during the light-deprived months. A person sits in front of a big lit-up box that shines with 10,000 lux every day for 30–45 minutes early in the morning.

— Psychotherapy, also known as Cognitive behavioural therapy or “talk therapy,” is a type of therapy that helps people cope with difficult situations. This type of therapy is considered to be more efficient for long-term effects. Its main objectives are to maintain a sane and safe environment for the recipient and get him out of the house.

— Medication is a commonly used practice when it comes to any depression. However, people are divided on whether pills are the way to go when struggling with any depressive ignited disease. And the most obvious way to go – is vitamin D. Nutritional supplements of the vitamins could help improve the symptoms. Although some specialists find it inefficient, especially compared to the other three options, it is still considered a way to go.

To Wrap It Up
Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD for short, is a depressive mood that coincides with every year. It's most common in people living above 30 degrees north and south (i.e., North America). The seasonal changes are the primary contributor to this phenomenon because with shorter days comes less sunlight, which can cause an imbalance in your brain chemicals like serotonin. But don't worry! You can do things to help alleviate these symptoms before they get worse.

Some helpful strategies include taking vitamins D3 and B12 daily, drinking more water throughout the day, eating healthy foods, and exercising regularly. However, remember that the most powerful tool to deal with this is cognitive it! You can consciously DECIDE to be stronger than your environment, which happens once you realize that you don't HAVE TO follow the main sequence. Stay happy. Consciously.

AD| If you are unhappy or deeply concerned about a specific part of your body, your face, or even your hair, there is a possibility that considering cosmetic surgery can help you restore your happiness.

Nowadays, cosmetic surgery is becoming quite the norm, and is something that is continuously growing in popularity, with both men and women opting for a variety of procedures and treatments that are currently available. Cosmetic surgery can now be performed on pretty much any part of the face or body, in order to typically improve a person's appearance. But, this is just one of the many benefits you can receive from cosmetic surgery. Listed below are a number of reasons why cosmetic surgery can help build your confidence, health, and self-esteem.

Improves Mental Health
When a person doesn't particularly like a part of their appearance, it can heavily influence how they feel about themselves overall. For those who have suffered with mental health issues such as body dysmorphia, depression, low self-esteem and anxiety, cosmetic surgery can boost your mental health and help you view your body in a better way. Cosmetic surgery could hopefully improve your mental health by helping you feel more relaxed, more comfortable, and more confident in your own skin.

Enhanced Appearance and Better Self-Confidence
Cosmetic surgery is simply done to change your overall appearance for whatever reason you have. There are such a variety of cosmetic surgery procedures that both men and women can choose these days, to help them feel more confident and comfortable with their appearance. Your appearance is the first thing that people notice about you, and if there are certain things you don't like about yourself, it can make you feel embarrassed, upset or anxious being around new people. Any improvement to your overall appearance, even if it's a small or big thing, will lead to greater self-confidence.

Once you are happier with the way that you look and the way that you feel, your confidence levels will improve dramatically, and you'll enjoy having more social interaction. Over the last few years, Hair transplant surgery has become a very popular cosmetic procedure, especially for men. This type of surgery can help rebuild receding hairlines, prevent baldness and renew hair growth, as well as helping those suffering with alopecia.

Improves Physical Health
Another advantage of undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure is that in some cases it can actually enhance your physical health. Examples of this include undergoing a rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a nose job, in order to breathe properly, or having liposuction/excess loose skin removed to help improve mobility and be more physically active in their everyday life.

We are constantly bombarded with photos and videos via social media on a daily basis, sharing what is deemed to be the “perfect face or body” of celebrities and content creators, but this isn't a 100% realistic view of these people. Online content can be edited and altered to give the illusion of a perfect face or figure, and we shouldn't compare ourselves in this way.

If you're considering surgery, then ultimately, make sure you are doing it for yourself and for no one else. Undergoing a cosmetic procedure should be researched and thought about realistically, carefully and properly – especially for factors such as the cost of the surgery and the recovery time following your procedure, as it's not something that should be decided upon overnight.

Would you consider having any cosmetic surgery procedures to improve your appearance or overall health?
