Have you ever wondered how to efficiently transport a vehicle across London’s bustling streets without the stress of traffic jams, parking restrictions, and logistical headaches? Whether you're relocating, selling a car, or managing a business fleet, navigating the capital’s unique transport challenges can be daunting. Fortunately, with the right approach and tools, you can make the process smooth and hassle-free. This guide will show you how to tackle London’s vehicle transport challenges like a pro.

Understand the Challenges of Vehicle Transport in London
London's transport landscape is unlike any other in the UK. From the congestion charge to limited parking and constant roadworks, vehicle transport requires careful planning. Key challenges include:
  • Congestion and Traffic: London is home to some of the busiest roads in the country, with congestion causing delays and complicating transport schedules.
  • Regulations and Fees: The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) and congestion charges can add costs to transport if vehicles don’t meet emission standards.
  • Limited Parking: Finding a safe and accessible loading or unloading spot can be a significant hurdle.
  • Navigating Narrow Streets: Many areas, especially in Central London, feature narrow, winding streets that pose difficulties for larger transport vehicles.
Understanding these obstacles is the first step to planning a smooth vehicle transport experience.

How to Overcome London’s Vehicle Transport Challenges

Look for services that:
  • Offer competitive quotes from multiple transport providers.
  • Have experience navigating London’s roads and regulations.
  • Provide options for both open and enclosed transport, depending on your vehicle type.
  • Schedule transport during off-peak hours when roads are less congested.
  • Use tools like Transport for London (TfL) traffic updates to identify current roadworks or diversions.
Professional car transporters often have the expertise to navigate these complexities, saving you time and stress.
A reliable service will typically handle these logistics for you, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Tips for Stress-Free Vehicle Transport

·        Be Prepared with Documentation: Have all necessary paperwork ready, such as ownership documents and insurance details.

·        Inspect Your Vehicle: Check your car for any existing damage and document it with photos before transport. This ensures clarity if any issues arise during transit.

·        Communicate Clearly: Provide detailed instructions about pick-up and drop-off locations to the transport provider. Highlight any restrictions or access challenges they may face.

·        Choose an Experienced Transporter: Working with professionals familiar with London’s unique challenges is key to a smooth experience.

London’s vehicle transport challenges may seem overwhelming, but with careful planning and the right resources, you can navigate them with ease. By choosing professional services, timing your transport strategically, and staying informed about regulations, you’ll ensure you have a stress-free experience.

1. Choose the Right Transport Service
Using a professional vehicle transport service can save time, effort, and potential fines. Platforms like Shiply will connect you with reliable car transporters in London, ensuring that your vehicle is handled safely and efficiently.

2. Plan Around Traffic and Peak Hours
Timing is everything when it comes to London’s roads. To avoid unnecessary delays:

3. Account for Regulations and Emission Standards
London’s ULEZ and congestion charges can impact the cost of transport. Make sure the vehicle being transported, and the transporter’s vehicle, meet the city’s emission standards to avoid additional fees.

4. Opt for Door-to-Door Transport
Instead of arranging separate pick-up and drop-off locations, consider door-to-door transport. This service minimises the need for you to navigate London’s traffic or parking restrictions. Professional car transporters will handle the entire journey, collecting and delivering the vehicle at your desired addresses.

5. Use Technology to Stay Informed
Modern vehicle transport services provide real-time updates, allowing you to track the progress of your car during transit. This feature gives peace of mind and ensures that you’re always informed of any potential delays or changes in schedule.

As the October half-term approaches, many families start planning how to spend this well-earned break from school. The days may be getting shorter, and the weather cooler, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. In fact, October is the perfect time to embrace the outdoors and embark on an active holiday with the family. Whether it’s outdoor adventure, sports, or nature exploration, active holidays offer a unique way to keep everyone entertained and energised during the half-term.

Active holidays are more than just a way to pass the time—they provide children and adults with opportunities to stay physically active, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful family bonding. For those looking to make the most of the school break, active holidays can transform the October half-term into a memorable experience filled with excitement, learning, and new challenges.

Why Choose an Active Holiday?
Active holidays offer a fantastic alternative to more traditional or passive holiday options, such as city breaks or beach holidays. While these options can be relaxing, they don’t always provide the same level of engagement or variety that families often need—especially when children are involved. With active holidays, the focus shifts to participation and hands-on experiences, encouraging everyone to get involved and stay engaged.

There are several key reasons why active holidays are particularly well-suited to the October half-term:

1. A Fun Way to Stay Active
During the colder months, it’s easy for children and adults alike to slip into more sedentary habits, especially with the lure of screens and indoor entertainment. However, staying active is essential for both physical and mental well-being, and an active holiday provides the perfect way to keep moving while having fun.

From hiking through the countryside to climbing, canoeing, or cycling, active holidays offer a variety of activities that get everyone outdoors and moving. These holidays promote fitness in a way that feels natural and enjoyable, meaning that children are less likely to resist or complain about getting active. Instead, they’ll be too busy having fun to realise they’re actually exercising!

2. Building Confidence and Skills
One of the most significant benefits of an active holiday is the opportunity for children to build confidence and develop new skills. Many active holidays involve challenges that encourage participants to push beyond their comfort zones—whether that’s scaling a climbing wall, trying their hand at archery, or mastering a new water sport.

These challenges teach children important life lessons, such as perseverance, problem-solving, and resilience. The sense of accomplishment that comes from successfully completing an activity boosts self-esteem and helps children realise that they are capable of

more than they initially thought. These are skills that extend far beyond the holiday itself and can have a lasting positive impact on their personal development.

3. Opportunities for Family Bonding
An active holiday is the perfect opportunity for families to spend quality time together, free from the usual distractions of work, school, and technology. Working together to overcome challenges, cheer each other on, and celebrate successes strengthens family bonds and creates shared memories that last a lifetime.

Many active holiday experiences are designed to encourage teamwork, meaning that family members must cooperate and communicate to achieve common goals. Whether it’s navigating a canoe together or completing a group obstacle course, these activities foster a sense of unity and collaboration. Families often leave an active holiday feeling more connected and with a renewed appreciation for each other’s strengths.

4. Embracing the Great Outdoors
October is a beautiful time of year, with the changing colours of autumn providing a stunning backdrop for outdoor adventures. Active holidays encourage families to embrace the season and enjoy the natural beauty of the great outdoors, even as the temperatures begin to drop.

Whether it’s exploring a forest, hiking through rolling hills, or taking in coastal views, the opportunity to spend time in nature has numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. Research shows that time spent in natural environments can reduce stress, improve mood, and boost overall well-being. For children, it’s also a welcome break from the distractions of technology and a chance to reconnect with the simple pleasures of being outside.

5. Educational Experiences
Active holidays aren’t just about physical activity—they also provide excellent learning opportunities. Many activities, such as orienteering, archery, and team-building games, encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership. Adventure-based activities can teach children how to work through challenges and make quick decisions, skills that are valuable in everyday life.

In addition to these practical skills, many active holidays offer opportunities to learn more about the environment, wildlife, and local geography. Families can explore national parks, nature reserves, or coastal areas, discovering the unique ecosystems and historical sites that make these regions special. These experiences help children develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the importance of conservation.

Types of Active Holidays for October Half-Term
Active holidays come in all shapes and sizes, offering something for every family. Whether your children are adrenaline junkies or prefer more low-key outdoor activities, there’s an active holiday to suit every taste.

outdoor hiking

Adventure Camps
Adventure camps are a popular option for families looking for a structured, activity-filled holiday. These camps typically offer a wide range of outdoor activities, including climbing, zip-lining, archery, and kayaking. Adventure camps are designed to keep children engaged and challenged, with experienced instructors leading activities to ensure safety and enjoyment. For families who want a blend of excitement and learning, October half term holidays at adventure camps provide a perfect mix of fun and development. These camps are set in stunning natural locations, providing the ideal backdrop for outdoor exploration, skill-building, and family bonding.

Hiking and Walking Holidays
For families who enjoy exploring on foot, hiking holidays are a great way to immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the UK’s landscapes. With numerous national parks and trails to choose from, hiking holidays can be as challenging or leisurely as you like.

You can explore the rugged peaks of the Lake District, the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, or the dramatic coastlines of Devon and Cornwall. Hiking allows families to take in breath-taking views while staying active, and it’s a great way to teach children about the local environment and wildlife.

Cycling Holidays
Cycling is another fantastic option for active families. Many regions across the UK offer scenic cycling routes that cater to all ages and abilities. Whether you prefer a gentle cycle along a flat path or a more challenging trail through hilly terrain, cycling holidays offer a fun way to stay fit while exploring new areas.

For those who want to combine cycling with sightseeing, many holiday providers offer guided family cycling tours that include stops at local attractions, historical sites, and scenic viewpoints. These holidays provide the perfect balance of physical activity and cultural enrichment.

outdoor kayaking

Water-Based Holidays
For families who love water sports, a water-based holiday might be the perfect fit. From kayaking and canoeing to paddleboarding and sailing, there are plenty of ways to get out on the water and have an adventure.

The UK’s lakes, rivers, and coastlines offer fantastic opportunities for water-based activities, with many centres providing equipment hire and lessons for beginners. These holidays are a great way to introduce children to new skills and build confidence in the water, while also enjoying the stunning natural surroundings.

Conclusion
Active holidays provide the perfect opportunity to make the most of the October half-term. They offer a refreshing alternative to more sedentary breaks, encouraging families to stay active, explore the outdoors, and enjoy new experiences together. Whether it’s through

hiking, cycling, or taking part in adventure activities, active holidays offer a chance to learn, bond, and create lasting memories.

By choosing an active holiday, families can embrace the cooler autumn weather, discover new skills, and build confidence while having fun. So, if you’re looking for an exciting way to spend the school break, consider the many benefits of an active holiday. From thrilling adventures to scenic walks, these holidays are guaranteed to make your October half term unforgettable.

Beautiful Countryside
Suffolk's countryside is a major draw for visitors. Rolling hills and meandering rivers down to the stunning coastline, it has something to offer everyone. The county has some amazing cycle routes, so those who love to get out and explore on their bikes will be very happy indeed. RSPB Minsmere is a beautiful nature reserve that boasts everything from bitterns to deer, making it a wildlife lover's paradise.
A Rich History and Heritage
Suffolk has a rich history. The town of Lavenham, often referred to as England's best-preserved medieval village, will transport visitors back in time with its half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. Bury St Edmunds, with its impressive cathedral, is another historical highlight. There are so many wonderful towns to explore along the coast as well, each with their own local history and culture.
Culture
Suffolk also has a thoroughly vibrant cultural scene. The county hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, celebrating everything from music and literature to food and drink. The Aldeburgh Festival is a world-renowned classical music event that attracts visitors from far and wide. The Snape Maltings, a centre for music, art and shopping, is a cultural hub offering year-round events and exhibitions. So, culture vultures will feel very at home!

No holiday is complete without great food and drink, and Suffolk does not disappoint in this regard. The county is famous for its produce, and you can sample it anywhere, from a farmer’s market to an award-winning restaurant. In fact, there are several Michelin-starred eateries in the county, with The Unruly Pig and Watson and Walpole being two of the best. Of course, the coastal towns are renowned for their fish and chips, and there are so many fantastic pubs serving local ales.
Letting Your Property in Suffolk
Given Suffolk's popularity as a holiday destination, letting your property is a great move! Taking care of everything involved in this yourself can be challenging though - so why not leave the hard work to a lettings agency? They will be able to market your property to an established client base and handle everything from bookings and queries to guest management before, during and after their stay. You’ll be able to enjoy a steady income from your home, at times of the year when it suits you. No wonder so many other Suffolk property owners are doing the same!
Your Next Steps
Suffolk has so much to offer, and this has made it an enduringly popular destination for holidaymakers. For property owners like you, this means that you can start earning from a property that might otherwise be sitting empty. So, what are you waiting for?

GUEST POST | London is great all-year around, but Summer and Christmas is when it really peaks and shows off the best of what London has to offer. With Summer fast approaching, it’s time to get your thinking caps on and research what you can do in this wonderful city throughout the Summer months.

In this post, we’re looking at 8 different things that you can add onto your agenda of things to do in London this Summer, from museums to shopping to theatre and much more. London isn’t always the cheapest place to visit, so don’t forget to try and find some discounted activities as well!

london

Visit the free museums
London is amazing, but when you’re on a budget, it can be hard to enjoy when there’s so much expensive involved, including travel and food. So when you find somewhere free, you’d better make the most of it! The free museums in London are absolutely fantastic and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t visit them during the Summer. If you take a packed lunch with you as well, then you’re actually in for a pretty cheap day out in London!

The Science Museum is always a hit with kids, and the Natural History Museum is a beautiful and fascinating place to stroll around for all ages. The National Gallery and the British Museum are also free.

Have a picnic in Hyde Park
Hyde Park is definitely worth a visit in the Summer – you could spend a full lazy day there, just watching the world go by. As it’s such a beautiful park, this can be a great option for a day out for couples or the whole family!

Pack a picnic and some blankets and head to Hyde Park on a sunny day and enjoy watching the world go by. If you have roller-skates, then you might want to pack those too and have a skate around. There’s plenty of wildlife, children’s playgrounds and of course, don’t forget to visit the Peter Pan statue!

Watch a candlelight orchestra performance
I did one of these last year and it was an absolutely magical night. It was warm enough that all you needed was a light cardigan, the candles were beautiful, and the performance was fantastic. It was a string quartet performing John William’s scores.

I’d highly recommend checking out Fever for a range of orchestra performances by candlelight – a super romantic thing to do one evening in London in the Summer.

london

Do a sightseeing bus tour
Great for tourists, but even if you’re familiar with London, why not be a tourist for the day? Hopefully you’ll have a nice sunny day and can enjoy the sights and architecture from the open-topped bus.

Hire a go-boat around Canary Wharf
We did this a couple of years ago and it was so much fun – although the weather during our trip was NOT fun and Summer would be a much more appropriate time of year to go and do a Go Boat trip! You hire your own little boat and spend a slow and lazy couple of hours cruising around Canary Wharf. Bring a picnic. Bring your dog. Bring your friends. And enjoy!

Go to the theatre
Of course, the theatre is a must-do any time of year in London, so it’s worth adding to this list as well. From Back To the Future, to Wicked, to The Lion King, there really is something for everyone up at London’s West End.

london theatre

Spend the day at Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens is the perfect way to spend a long Summer's day in London. On average, it takes around 3 hours to walk all the way through Kew Gardens, so make sure you have your comfy walking shoes on for this one! Going in the Summer will allow you to catch the vibrant flowers during a leisurely stroll. Don’t forget to bring a picnic as well!

Support small at Coal Drop’s Yard
Coal Drop’s Yard near King’s Cross is a great hub for shopping with plenty of small, independent and artisan shops and coffee shops to choose from. If you’re into natural beauty, I’d highly recommend checking out Blomma Beauty whilst you’re there. They also offer facials and workshops, so perhaps treat yourself to one of those on your trip!

I hope this has given you some ideas of what to do in London this Summer. There are endless possibilities, in such a big and vibrant city!

AD | Is 2023 your year of travel? Are you looking at visiting some new destination this year, but don't want to break the bank? This post is for you!

Travelling and exploring new parts of the world is such an enjoyable and rewarding opportunity, and being able to travel affordably or on a tight budget makes it more appealing and accessible to a wide range of people. Choosing your next travel destination can be extremely tricky, especially if you don't research and plan in advance. As well as this, there are so many city break destinations packed with amazing history, beautiful culture, delicious food and scenic landscapes, it can be tough to pick just one for your next trip.

Many of us have travel bucket lists filled with holiday destinations we all want to explore, whether that's the Balearic Islands, or visiting Greece and the surrounding islands, or even a small town staycation in the UK. Saving money whilst travelling doesn't have to be hard. Whatever your preference, there is always somewhere to explore on whatever budget you may have. Here are  6 top tips for city break travelling on a budget in 2023

travel

Use Price Comparison Websites
When you have finalised your travel dates and destination, you'll then want to go ahead and begin to book your flights and accommodation. During this stage of your booking process, you'll be able to research and find out if booking your holiday in a package or separately will be cheaper for you. I'd recommend using price comparison websites that can search the internet for flights and hotels, suiting your dates, time and budget.

Travel Light
Most of the time, a city break will only require you to bring a small hand luggage bag. These are typically free on all flights, as long as you follow the sizing recommendations from your airline. When packing your clothing, it's important that you really plan ahead, and use staple pieces from your wardrobe that you can create multiple outfits with. As well as this, I have found that using packing cubes can really help you squeeze all your essentials in your hand luggage.

budget travel

Book Attractions and Day Trips in Advance
When you're on holiday, you may want to look at finding some day trips or visiting attractions, as these can prove costly if not pre-planned and booked ahead. By booing online in advance, you can usually skip all the queues and save yourself a lot of money. If you are to fill up your travel itinerary, it might be worth researching some free excursions and activities that your travel destination has to offer. Many tourist destinations will have plenty of parks, museums, and shops that you can visit for free. You could even ask in your hotel or accommodation centre if there are any activities going on during your stay that you might find interesting.

Rent A Car
If you've got your driving licence, you may want to consider car rentals as a way to explore your chosen destination to the fullest. They are incredibly easy to book online in advance, you may also find deals online to save money, and your car can often be picked up at the airport. Not only do you skip the queues for public transport, but you can also plan your own journey, and explore places without any waiting time, crowds or time restraints.

Enjoy Local Food
If you are looking at eating out most of the time, why not get some recommendations from locals and enjoy local food and drinks. Many restaurants, pubs, and bars are situated in very popular, tourist areas, and visiting these locations may be quite expensive. Many destinations will have places to eat and drink that are super popular with the locals and residents, so it may be worth asking around for some ideas of places to enjoy your meals.

GUEST POST | Are you thinking about a holiday away? Maybe some time on a beach with the sun beating down on you? The sun is right there, you just need to take advantage of it. How? With a trip away, of course!

Not convinced? Well, we can help you out there. We are going through all the reasons that a week in the sun benefits you, from allowing you a break from city life to the very real health benefits of being in the sun that we’re all lacking in the winter months.

SUN HOLIDAY

The sun is for everyone
A beach holiday is for everyone, and everyone needs one now and then. And the best part of a sunny holiday is that there are no barriers for entry. Although there are other activities at the beach, the main point is to simply sit there and soak in the sun and the sea. Take in a book and/or a cocktail, bring a picnic, or visit the surrounding restaurants and street vendors and simply relax.

Of course, a week in the sun doesn’t need to mean a week on the beach if that’s not for you. Sometimes that’s simply not stimulating enough for some people. If you prefer a wander around a sunny city, or an underrated small town for a bit of peace, you won’t regret it.

Everyone needs a break
Even if you are retired, you will need a break. In fact, because you have retired you have officially earned your break, and a week in the sun is a great way to go about it. Whether it’s leaving the grandkids behind for a while, or stepping away from some external stress, you deserve a week of sun, sea, art, food, and friends.

You can make new friends
And yes, you can make new friends. Especially if you end up in a resort-style hotel. It’s as easy as going down to the pool and having a laugh with others around the pool. There are some people who simply start chatting to everyone, and if that’s not you, find them. Before you know it, you’ve got plans to try this great restaurant with them that night.

You can be covered for your trip
If it has been a while, and you’re not entirely confident in travelling, you can make it easier on yourself by getting your trip covered with a travel insurance policy. You can get policies that cover your bag getting lost, your wallet getting stolen, your flights cancelled, and importantly, medical cover if you get ill. For a good example of what to look for, check out the over 50 insurance policy on the Staysure site.

sun holiday

The sun is good for you
Sunlight is hugely beneficial to the human body and mind. There’s a reason that seasonal depression is a thing. For your mind, sunlight releases serotonin, which is the happiness hormone. So not only will you naturally feel happier with a week in the sun, but the knock-on effects are that it will boost your bone health and treat your skin well. Sometimes too well, so load on the SPF anyway.

Conclusion
Frankly, we’ve run through the most boring reasons to take a week away in the sun. You don’t need to justify it with health benefits or needing a break. If you want a week in the sun, take a week in the sun. You should be excited about such a venture, and if you’re not, excited about a week in the sun.

maybe look into what the Swiss Alps are doing lately? Travelling should excite you, to your core. And you’re never too old for that.

GUEST POST| The Southwestern United States is a diverse and exciting place to visit. It offers many landscapes, climates, and cultures. The region is mostly made up of desert-like areas, with some mountain ranges in the north, such as the Rocky Mountains. The region also has some of the country’s best food, arts, and music. Popular sites include the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, Las Vegas in Nevada, San Diego in California and New Mexico's White Sands National Monument.

If you’re interested in making these sites part of your back-door view, you’ll need a reliable home base. So, check out this list of these amazing Southwestern cities to check out now if you want to see more in this incredible part of the United States.

US states

El Paso
El Paso, Texas, has a lot to offer. It is known for its temperate climate, vibrant culture, and rich history. El Paso was founded in 1680 by Spanish colonizers in the New World. The city’s location on the Mexican border makes it an ideal destination for those who want to explore both sides of the country. It also has some good things going for it is as well, like its low cost of living and high-quality education system.

This is a great time to pick up one of the El Paso houses for sale and settle into the city to work, because El Paso offers plenty of resources and opportunities while still being affordable.

Santa Fe
Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico that is known for its high-quality restaurants, art and culture. Santa Fe has a lot of great things to offer its residents and visitors, but one of the best things about Santa Fe is the food. The food scene in Santa Fe is one of the best in the country and provides visitors with a wide range of options from traditional Mexican dishes to fine dining.

Santa Fe has also been named as one of America’s “most liveable cities” by Forbes magazine, which puts it on par with other popular destinations such as Austin, Portland, and San Francisco. Basically, the city is temperate for much of the year, it’s got a great look to it with its Spanish influences, and there is plenty to do outdoors. Worth checking out, for sure!

Sedona
Sedona is a beautiful place in the state of Arizona. It is known for its red rock views and opportunities for hiking, biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more! One of the best parts about visiting Sedona is the beautiful scenery. There are so many types of landscapes in this city that you can easily find something you love.

Sedona has a lot to offer its residents. The cost of living is relatively lower compared to other places in Arizona, it has an abundance of natural beauty, and it’s close to major cities like Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The city also offers great opportunities for those who want to live out their passions through careers in art or culture.

GUEST POST| The Spanish Balearic Islands are classic holiday destinations. Ibiza is the original clubbing isle, Majorca has all the sun, sea, sand, and whatever else you need, and for families, there is Menorca. For holidaymakers on a budget, there are lots of options on all the islands. Here is a quick tour of five of the best no matter what kind of getaway you want this summer.

Balearic islands

Majorca – Port de Soller
The Balearic Island of Majorca has undergone a reinvention over the last few years. You can still find the stereotypical package holiday antics, but you must go looking for them. Port de Soller is a fantastic and family-friendly town on the Northwest coast. It is perfect for people on a budget and far away from clubbing and the ‘bar street’ mayhem.

In the towns, you will find family-run hotels that offer good value stays for families and couples. It provides the perfect place to stay to enjoy a well-deserved rest. The nearby beach is perfect for getting a tan. If you are looking for ways to get back into your bikini, meal replacement shakes are a convenient way to do it. Shake That Weight shakes are a low-cost, high-protein drink that helps you lose excess weight. Get yourself ready to hit the sand with confidence.

Ibiza – San Antonio
Need to party on a budget? Ibiza is the ideal destination. It has worked hard to earn a party island reputation, and there are low-cost options aplenty available, so everyone can join in.

San Antonio is party central on Ibiza, though Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town are also good shouts. Budget accommodation is everywhere on the island, depending on what time of year you go. Save yourself some money and travel outside the peak summer season, which is between late June and late September. Prices can skyrocket during this period. There are family-friendly places to stay on the island, but they can be more expensive than the options you have elsewhere in the Balearics.

Menorca – Ciutadella
This destination is a little inland, so you are going to need to catch the bus to the beach or drive a car. The savings you make on accommodation will pay for it, though. Ciutadella is an old town and a well-kept secret amongst savvy holidaymakers. The charming medieval town is rich in history. With streets lined with churches, palaces and fortresses, a visit to Ciutadella is undoubtedly worth the travel. After visiting all the historical landmarks, take a leisurely stroll down to the picturesque beaches and discover the Minorcan coves.

Balearic islands

Formentera - Resorts for Less
Time is money. If you are willing to spend a little time instead of money, you can discover the island of Formentera. You cannot fly here directly, that is the catch. You have to fly to Ibiza first before getting on a ferry to Formentera. This only takes half an hour and does not cost much. When you arrive, you will be happy you went the extra mile though to get to this stunning island. There is an air of exclusivity to the island, as it is not overcrowded or overdeveloped. It can be a tranquil retreat where you relax and soak in the sun's rays.

There is no such thing as a big resort hotel on Formentera. The island has many small and unique resorts to choose from that suit any budget. Es Pujols is the only resort town on the island, and there you will find some beautiful places to stay.

Some of these resorts are just a short walk from the beach, where there are lots of water sports to try. Whether you go with a partner, friends, or family, there will be something you can all enjoy. This is not the most affordable holiday option, but is one that gets you lots for your money. Travel in off-peak months to save a little more. Formentera is not the right destination for families because of the extra travelling, but it is great for couples.

Majorca – Playa de Palma
Whatever type of holiday you want to have, Majorca has what you need. It is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe for plenty of reasons and is worthy of another entry on this list. Playa de Palma is a bit East of the island’s capital, Palma. The curved bay there creates one of the Balearic’s best beaches. If you want some adventure, there is cycling and hiking in the hills inland. Do you want a food-focused getaway? Playa de Palma has plenty of excellent places to eat, drink, and relax.

From just these five destinations, you can find any kind of holiday you want. Self-catering, all-inclusive, adventure, relaxation; the Balearics have it all for less.

Have you visited any of the Balearic Islands?
