AD – GIFTED | If you're someone who has long hair, you should consider investing in some good quality silk scrunchies for those times when you want to wear your hair up, whilst keeping your hair healthy. Silk hair scrunchies are designed to avoid kinking and creasing the hair, making them much kinder to hair, and cause less damage than your usual hairband.

Silk hair scrunchies are the perfect hair accessory. They are extremely practical, super cute, and come in very handy when you need to put your hair up, anytime, anywhere. Whether you're opting for a messy bun, ponytail, or even a half up, half down hairstyle, here are 3 reasons why you should use silk scrunchies for your hair today.

silk scrunchies

Suitable For All Hair Types
Silk Scrunchies are suitable for everyone – those with long hair, curly hair, straight hair, you name it, it'll work! The main feature that makes them suitable for everyone is that they are made with super stretchy elastic, making it very easy and very comfortable to use, for everyone with anything from fine to thick hair.

Reduces Hair Breakage
Silk is one of the softest materials that you can use of your hair, and over time, it will help to reduce hair friction leading to less damage, and overall, better hair health. Creating certain hairstyles, such as high ponytails, means you are tying your hair extremely tight, which can causes hair breakage and pulling from the root. Unlike your typical conventional hairbands, silk scrunchies are a perfect choice to ensure they don’t snag, pull or trap your hair.

Good For Long Periods of Time
If you are planning to keep your hair up for a number of hours, whether you're choosing a ponytail or messy bun for the daytime, or keeping your hair up throughout the night, silk hair scrunchies are probably the best choice for you. They help to prevent friction, they aren't painful to use, they won’t capture sweat, and they won’t feel tight or heavy on your head.

I was kindly sent some Silk Scrunchies to try for myself and to see how they can help me improve the condition of my hair. These are some of the softest, smoothest scrunchies I have used, as they are made from premium 22 momme mulberry silk, which helps protect the hair from snagging, kinking or creasing.

These silk scrunchies are suitable for those who wear their hair up during the day, or for those who sleep with their hair tied back by night, as they cause less damage than your typical hairband. They are designed to help you experience fewer split ends, breakage, and signs of damage, as well as this, they are super cute! — why wouldn't you invest in them?

Do you currently use silk scrunchies in your haircare routine?

When it comes to gift giving at Christmas, it can be difficult to narrow down the perfect items for your nearest and dearest. However, finding the perfect gift for your partner's parents can be more stressful than usual. You want to aim for a gift that is meaningful and thoughtful that they will enjoy. Here are a few Christmas gift ideas that will impress your in-laws.

A Monthly Wine Subscription, They Can Enjoy Together
Wine lovers will appreciate trying out a new wine every month in the comfort of their own home. A monthly wine subscription allows your in-laws to experience new wines that they probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Furthermore, wines can keep for a long time, which means if they don’t fancy a bottle one month, they can save it for an occasion later in the year.

Personalised Alcohol Gift Set
If your partner’s parents enjoy a tipple but aren’t keen on wine, a few delicious liqueurs might be more up their street. The people behind Oxton Liqueurs use local fruits and flowers from Nottinghamshire to handcraft their home-made liqueurs. Their tipples can be bought in aesthetically pleasing bottles that come in all shapes and sizes, and their liqueurs can be personalised with a handwritten message. Their personalised alcohol gift sets will make your in-laws feel extra special this Christmas.

A Sentimental Photo Book
If you get on particularly well with your other half’s family, and you spend a lot of your leisure time with them, a sentimental photo book is an excellent gift idea. Fill your photo book with pictures of special moments you have shared during the past year. A photo book can be kept as a treasured keepsake which they can flick through whenever they want. Not only will this thoughtful gift bring up happy feelings of nostalgia, it will show your in-laws how much you enjoy spending time with them.

Family Tree Picture Frame
A family tree picture frame is the perfect gift if you and your partner have a litter of children who your in-laws adore. No matter how much you want to spend time with the in-laws, it can be difficult to get the whole family together physically. This gift idea gives your partner’s parents the chance to proudly display images of their loving family on the wall. If your family is growing, purchase a family tree picture frame that allows you to add more frames in the future.

The Gift of Experience
It can be difficult to buy a great gift for the in-laws if they already have everything they could possibly want. Luckily, you can still give them a nice surprise by presenting them with a gift experience. This type of present takes gift-giving to a complete new level, and you can be as extravagant or as modest with this idea. Couples who enjoy the finer things in life may appreciate a luxury day at the spa together, while a delicious meal for two at their favourite restaurant is a fail-safe option.

Creating a tranquil, warm, and welcoming home is important. You want to have spaces that you can retreat to at the end of a busy or long day. Upgrading your interiors and decor quill help to elevate how your room looks and feels. Now, to make this happen, what should you be focusing on?

Making Your Space Personal and Unique
Firstly, you want to focus on making the rooms and spaces in your home as unique and personal as you are. Giving each area a unique identity is significant. Before embarking on each space, think about what an area feels like and what you want it to look like. What do you need to add (or even take away) to get it feeling like your space? A unique and personal space is somewhere you will enjoy spending time, so put thought and energy into this stage of the process.

Adding Antiques
It is easy to buy furniture ready-made from the shop, but then you run the risk of having the same as everyone else has got. To mix things up a little bit and make things different, why don’t you look at adding antiques? Using an online antique dealer, you will be able to find unique, beautiful, and individual pieces from side tables to lamps and other trinkets or decor. When you add antiques to a room, you create focal points and talking points and give a room some much-needed depth and character.

Upcycling What You Can
However, there may be items you love and cherish, and want to keep. They may not look as good as they once did. This is not an excuse to throw them away. It is an excuse to upcycle and once again love what you have. There are lots of ways you can repurpose and recycle items to make them beautiful and functional once more. So, always think about this before you commit to throwing anything away.

Layer and Adding Soft Furnishings
To add finishing touches to upgraded spaces and interiors, you may wish to add soft furnishings and even focus on layering items such as rugs and throws. Layering well and adding soft furnishings can (and will) add depth to a space. Soft furnishings can bring a whole room together and allow you to make a subtle statement. When you are layering items, remember to be brave and mix up the colours, sizes, and styles that you are using to get the best effects.

Being Bold With Colours – Making a Statement
When you focus on upgrading the interior and decor of your home, you need to realize the importance of colour. Being brave and trying out new colour pots is important. You may wish to give a room a complete new feel by painting every wall. Or, you may wish to have a feature wall that is bright, bold, or even wallpapered. Giving the room a bit of colour feels more like a reflection of you and who you are.

Flooring
Flooring is something that can make or break a good interior space. This part of the upgrade to your home can allow you to get creative, and look at a variety of options, before choosing what is best for you. Real Wood Flooring would be the perfect choice for those looking to make a statement in their home, by opting for a luxurious ground-surface. The effect of using solid wood can add some much character to your home. The natural beauty of the wood is something that can add both a rustic or contemporary feel with a variety of shades, swirls, knots, and grain in the wood.

What ways would you upgrade your home's interior and decor?

GUEST POST | When you are considering entering any type of profession, you will need to work to build up your skills. This is certainly true of becoming a tattoo artist, but other elements will significantly affect your eventual success in this field. Let’s check out a few of these steps in more detail right here and now.

Learn How to Draw
It may seem like it is an obvious enough starting point, but you will certainly need to build up your drawing skills, to begin with. You can potentially enrol in different classes to do this, but you can also practice on your own and study the work of some great tattoo artists out there. It would be best if you also considered exploring various art forms, as there are plenty of different designs you can easily find yourself confronted with.

Look for a Mentor and Learn the Trade
Once you have boosted your art skills and taken on any potentially useful qualifications in this area, the time will have come for you to look for a mentor and start learning the trade. In most cases, this will involve taking on an apprenticeship, which allows you to pick up all the necessary skills, so you can not only survive but also thrive in this particular trade. This can be a tough and potentially costly process that you need to be fully prepared to take seriously.

Get Your Licences
Once you have gone through all the steps in becoming an apprentice, you will need to get your hands on all the right licences. These will obviously vary from country to country, so you need to check the different rules and requirements that will enable you to get one of these successfully.

Invest in Equipment
After you have been in the game for a sustained period, it is likely that you are going to want to get your hands on your own equipment and tattoo ink. After all, everyone will end up with their own set of preferences, and it is certainly going to be the case that you need to work out what yours happen to be. You are then taking a very real step and demonstrating your overall sense of commitment to the profession.

Start Your Career
Finally, you are going to want to embark upon your eventual career. This could include working in someone else’s studio to begin with, but further down the line, you may have ambitions to open up a studio of your own as this gives you eventual and total control. Don’t try to run before you can walk though, take the time to work in a reputable studio to see how they function, and learn the best industry practices that you can take with you when you feel ready to take that next step in your career. Many studios rent out seats for set periods, and then take on an artist if they are consistent and a good fit for the team full time, so you should have no problem finding somewhere.

Are you training to be a tattoo artist? What other steps would you need to consider?

AD| Online gaming is extremely popular with players of all ages and abilities – whether you're looking for something to do in your spare time, to learn new skills, or just help improve your everyday life, there are games suitable for everyone.

Most of the time, we hear about the number of downsides to playing online games, including addiction, health issues, and problems with social interaction. However, if played in moderation, and playing more educational themed games, there are some amazing benefits that can help boost your child's learning and improve their skills.

Encourages Problem-Solving
Online gaming is a simple way in which you can learn, improve, and practice your problem-solving skills on a daily basis. There are so many categories of games that you can pick from, but puzzle, strategy, memory, and logic games will be super beneficial to you and to help you improve your skills. These types of games are some of my favourites as they can be very challenging and require you to think hard, but extremely will be rewarding, and you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you can complete them.

Games Can Teach New Skills
Online games can be a way to help support your child’s learning and teach them key life skills, through a range of fun and education activities. These can include mathematics and numeracy, logic puzzles, memory games and problem-solving. These types of games are some of my favourites as they can be very challenging and require you to think hard, but extremely will be rewarding, and you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you can complete them.

Gaming is extremely brain stimulating. Gaming may help strengthen your cognitive skills such as spatial navigation, reasoning, memory and perception. Playing games such as Maths Test, Grocery Cashier and Arithmetic Game, in addition to your child's learning in school, can really benefit their education and help them practice their newly learnt skills in their own free time.

Learn From Your Mistakes
Learning from your failures and mistakes is how we learn in everyday life. Allowing ourselves to repeat tasks until we master them is how we improve and get better. Many online games feature different levels, in which you need to complete each level in order to progress to the next. These type of games allow players to essentially learn from their mistakes, correct them and try again until they complete it.

Do your children use online games to help with their learning? What are your favourite types of games?
