AD| The common cold is, well, one of the most common illnesses in the world! People get it all-year-round, but it mostly comes to bite us during winter. The worst thing about the cold is that there's no cure for it and it keeps adapting. This is why nobody is immune to it, and also why you might get multiple colds in a year.

However, another illness often gets mentioned in the same breath as a cold: the flu. You see the two paired together all the time, but what's the difference between them? How do you know if you have a cold or the flu?

cold and flu illness

The flu is considerably worse

Firstly, you'll know if you have the flu because it is considerably worse than a cold. While you might get a cold a few times a year, they may only put you out of action for a day or two. Bad colds can last longer, but you tend to recover very quickly. The main symptoms are a blocked nose, cough, sore throat, and general tiredness. They can also be treated quite easily - ginger is very effective at killing the cold virus, which is why it doesn’t last that long.

In contrast, the flu will floor you for at least a week. It has many of the same symptoms as a cold, but it's a lot stronger. You won't feel better for a good few days, and the symptoms will linger on well into a second week. The flu virus is highly contagious, which is why your best method of treatment is to stay at home and recover. You might be able to get some flu treatment from a doctor, but it depends on how severe your symptoms are.

The flu causes intense muscle aches

I lived my whole life without having the flu, until about three years ago. To be honest, I assumed that the flu and a cold were pretty similar. In fact, I may have even told people I had the flu a few times. But, it's not until you actually suffer from it that you realise the stark contrast in the two illnesses.

The biggest difference is that the flu causes intense muscle aches. This doesn't mean your muscles feel a bit sore and weak - it means they properly hurt. I had a severe pain in my back that felt like a really tight muscle knot. The same sort of thing happens in other areas of the body - it's like the day after an intense workout! For me, this is one of the tell-tale symptoms that help you differentiate between the two diseases. If you have cold symptoms and some serious muscle aches, you probably have the flu.

The flu gives you a fever

Another common difference is that cold will very rarely give you a fever. Generally, you just feel a bit run down and tired. This comes with the usual congestion issues, but your temperature isn't too hot. Weirdly, one of the treatments for a cold is to induce a fever at night. Some people suggest that wearing wet socks triggers a fever, which sets your immune system to peak efficiency. The idea is that the fever drives out the cold.

Anyway, the flu will give you a fever as one of the main symptoms. Again, this is an easy way to determine if you have a cold or the flu. Check your temperature, and if you keep sweating through your covers, you probably have the flu.

The flu can make you nauseous

Colds tend to be quite a sinus problem. What I mean is that most of the symptoms affect your nose and throat. In turn, this often creates the feeling of your head being in a bubble. When your sinuses are infected or damaged, it does make you feel tired and ill. However, the flu makes you feel all sorts of other ailments as it's more of a total body disease.

Nausea is a common flu symptom, but it's rarely seen when you have a cold. Generally, your eating habits aren't affected when you've got the common cold. You still have the urge to eat, it's just frustrating as you can't taste anything. By contrast, the flu can upset your appetite and make you go off food for a few days. As a result, you're left eating crackers and plain rice until your appetite returns. Thus, if you feel sick and have no inclination to eat anything, the chances are you have a cold.

Hopefully, this gives you an idea of the differences between a cold and the flu. The flu is definitely a bigger concern, which is why there's a vaccine for it. Keep a look out for some of the defining symptoms that let you know if you have a cold or the flu!

AD| The reality of working from home has become recently much more popular over the last year than ever before. Due to the current global coronavirus pandemic, many of us are swapping the daily commute to the office, and instead making it a trip to the home office, dining table or lounge. It's definitely a massive lifestyle change for some people, but there are a number of things you can do to make this swap easier and more comfortable.

If you’re currently working from home and will be continuing this for a while, setting up the perfect home office space to work in can make all the difference to your working routine. It’s where you'll be going daily and will be spending a large part of your day there, so you want to make sure you’re going to be as productive as possible and get your job done without any distractions.

home office decor

One of the most important things you can do whilst working from home is to separate your work and home life. This can be extremely difficult for some people, but with the right mindset, a regular daily routine and having set rules put in place, you can still remain motivated and productive whilst you're out of office. Simple things like getting out of bed and getting dressed, working from your at home office or even a desk and not your bed, are just some easy changes to make to get you setup correctly for working from home. By making these changes, it helps you to keep your working routine without being too relaxed, and can help you get the right work time and home time balance.

If you sit in your chair all day for long periods of time, it is absolutely necessary to have a quality chair. Investing in a comfortable chair is probably one of the best things you can do, both for comfort and for health purposes. Having an uncomfortable and unsupportive chair will be causing you back aches and pains, leading to poor posture and slouching. Home office and executive chairs are probably your best option whilst working from home, as they are designed ergonomically to provide the best comfort and support for all day use, as they supports the lower back and promote good posture. Executive chairs are made to look good, helping to make your at-home office look more professional and chic.

Getting plenty of natural light into your office space is extremely important for various reasons. Not only does natural light help us to focus better, but it can boost concentration, alertness and productivity, enabling us to get more done during the day. As well as keeping you productive, natural light is extremely beneficial for the health of your eyes, as it decreases glare from your computer screen and causes less strain to the eyes.

Something to consider is adding some greenery and plants to your at-home office setup. Home office plants can offer a number of benefits from reducing stress levels, boosting your overall mood, and improving perceptions of the workspace. If your office looks calm and welcoming, you're bound to want to spend more time in there, helping to boost your creativity and productivity.

Keeping your desk clutter free and tidy allows you to be more productive allows you to fully concentrate on the tasks at hand. Having a tidy workspace will allow you to find what you need, when you need it, without added stress and with no more wasted time looking for misplaced documents. Keeping on top of any mess in your office should be a priority as it will lead to fewer distractions and fewer mistakes whilst working at home.

Are you currently working from home? What tips do you have for setting up your at-home workspace?

AD| Do you want to increase your fitness and stamina levels, but are unsure or don't know where to start?

Whilst being stuck at home through the current coronavirus pandemic, it can be extremely easy to lose focus on exercise, working out and becoming much lazier than usual. Many people are finding these lockdown rules and guidelines extremely hard, with feeling lonely and demotivated, but during these times it could be a perfect opportunity to refresh yourself and make changes to your own personal life for the better. Having slightly more time on your hands could help you to begin getting your lifestyle much healthier, improve your mental health and begin your journey to feeling and looking better, and there's not place better to start than at home.

A recent blog post of mine shared some essential fitness, workout and lifestyle tips, that could be a great place to start when trying to improve/change your lifestyle for a more positive outcome. Just adding some simple swaps and changes into your daily routine could really kickstart your goals for a more healthy lifestyle.

womens workout routine

One of the biggest changes to help improve your fitness and stamina at home is to switch up the food/drink that you have and opt for healthier options. A balanced diet helps you get the much needed nutrients, vitamins and minerals your body needs to work effectively on a daily basis. Making sure to get good sources of proteins, carbs and fats are essential for your body, and shouldn't be restricted too much. By eating the right foods, and the right amount for your body, you will be fuelled for the day and able to workout for longer periods of time, therefore managing to increase your fitness and stamina levels over time.

Regular exercise is one of the best things you can do for your health, whether that's the physical or mental side of it. It has so many benefits, including improving your overall fitness/stamina levels, helping you to destress and reducing your risk of many diseases. Exercise can come in some many forms that there is definitely something that everyone can take part in and enjoy, with activities such as walking, jogging to running, or even yoga, weight training or cycling. Walking is one of the easiest ways to get more activity into your day, lose weight and become healthier, so this might be a good starting point for those working from home to get some exercise in each day.

Getting plenty of rest is completely necessary when exercising and training. Including rest days throughout the week allows time for recovery, is essential for muscle growth and gives your body time to replenish energy stores that have been used. Rest days are also important because they help prevent injury and fatigue, meaning the next time you exercise you'll feel stronger and fitter.

Something you may be unfamiliar with is Inspiratory Muscle Training. IMT is scientifically proven, as well as recently recommended by the World Health Organisation to benefit patients with respiratory illnesses, as well as healthy people, including athletes. Powerbreathe are a company who have been making Inspiratory Muscle training tools for many years, focusing on exercising the inspiratory (breathing in) muscles, helping to improve strength and stamina, as well as reducing signs of fatigue and breathlessness. These IMT devices work by creating resistance when breathing in, which in turn strengthens your breathing muscles by making them work harder than usual. Powerbreathe have devices suitable for everyone, to suit all budgets and support all fitness levels.

Hydration is a key part of your daily routine, regardless if you're trying to improve your fitness and stamina. Up to 60% of the human adult body is water so it's essential to keep hydrated. Drinking enough fluids and making sure to get enough water into your body is vital for everyday bodily functions, and will help to maintain your concentration and performance levels.

Set Goals. The goals you work towards, however big or small, should still be challenging you but also be realistic enough to make them achievable. Starting off small is probably the best way forward as you can slowly build up strength, fitness or stamina levels over a period of time to help you progress at a sustainable rate. It might also be helpful to reward yourself when you reach your goals, in order to keep you motivated and push for more.

How are you keeping fit during lockdown?

AD| With many companies trying to figure out how they will enable their employees to effectively and efficiently work from home, many homeowners are looking for ways to re-evaluate their necessities. Many people are looking to get more space for a home office. You probably need a bigger home when working remotely if your home doesn’t offer enough space for a home office.

home buying tips

•Factors to Consider before Buying a Bigger Home•

The affordability of the home

It is common sense that bigger homes always come with larger price tags. However, the sales are not the only thing that is inflated here.  There are bigger property tax payments, larger insurance to protect the home, and utility bills. Bigger homes are expensive to heat and cool compared to small ones.

Prior to buying a bigger home, consider all the added costs that come with the purchase. Learn more about the current household budget and decide whether the bigger home's real cost fits in. Use a house loan calculator to approximate your monthly mortgage payments. Additionally, compare mortgage offers from various lenders to make the most of your buying power.

What you are willing to sacrifice

Maybe, you love living in or near the city, but you find bigger homes in a problematic locality. Keep in mind that finding a bigger home in the city comes with a high price tag. You will ultimately have to leave the city and look for a home that fits your budget.

Are you ready to sacrifice that? Because moving far from the city will also mean extended commute hours to work, and you will spend more time in your car to get to your beloved restaurant and shopping hubs. To get the extra space you need, for example, the bigger back yards, extra bedrooms, and a luxurious bathroom suite, you will have to sacrifice the convenience and pleasure of living in a big city.

home and interior design

How much more space you need

When selecting a bigger home to buy, consider the way your family lives. You won’t need a more oversized kitchen if your family doesn’t do much cooking. Go for a house with just enough space that you need. If it is an extra bedroom, you probably won’t need a two-car garage.  If you are buying a bigger home to find space for a home office, just pick one with an extra one room, depending on the size of your home office.

Once you are aware of what you want, start focusing on the beauty. As you go about your daily life, deliberate on the various types of houses you see and make notes on the ones that amaze you. Ideally, you will need a home that will give you the extra room for your home office without going overboard.

The equity in your current home

Home equity is the difference between what you owe on your mortgage and the current worth of your home. It is crucial to consider the equity you have in your current home if you want to buy a bigger one. If you built up equity in your current home, you could be lucky to evade a huge mortgage payment. When selling your home, you can apply the profits to your down payments and lessen your mortgage payments on your bigger home.

home finances

The current condition of the market

It is always a sellers’ market or a buyers’ market. This means that the market can favour the seller or the buyers. But who gets the most out of the market situations? If you want to buy a bigger home, you will have to wait for the time when the market is in favour of the buyers; this equals to lower interest rates and lower home price tags.

But what will happen when it is time to sell your home? It would be best if you always keep your home's resale value in mind when shopping for a bigger home. You might be looking for a home that is big enough for your entire family, but if your home has excess irrelevant features, you might just turn away any potential buyers. You will struggle to sell it for a price that will give you a profit.

Bottom Line

The Coronavirus pandemic has homeowners re-evaluating their needs. This is particularly true for individuals or parents working from home and families that have children who have started remote learning. Remember to take care of your eyes as you work from home, and get a bigger home with adequate learning space and office space sounds impeccable.

With the right research, it is possible to get a bigger home within your budget. Use the above tips as points of considerations when buying a bigger home.

 Happy New Year!

2020 may not have been the year we had hoped for and it is definitely one we wont forget. This year seemed to be full of negativity and uncertain times, with Coronavirus, multiple lockdowns, working from home and staying indoors, it's definitely been a rollercoaster year. But one positive for me was managing to continuously work on improving my finances and working towards a savings goal which I'm extremely happy and proud about. I'm hoping that this will continue in 2021, in an attempt to reach an ever bigger goal of mine financially, and here's 6 ways I'm going to use to help me with my targets and get on top of my finances.

money and finance

1. Savings Account - I mentioned that in 2020 I was lucky enough to reach my savings goal of 5 figures. This was mainly due to the multiple lockdowns, where I wasn't spending as much money as I would usually. This may not seem like a lot of money but having somewhere to direct that money to definitely helped. Every month, I would deposit an amount of money from my wages, along with an money I had earnt through sponsored posts and advertising. This method really worked for me as I was able to physically see how much each month I was putting away to be saved, yet still leaving enough money in my main account for the month ahead, and whatever I have left in my account before payday, that money also gets transferred to my savings.

2. Spend On Essentials - This is definitely something that I've been working on over the last few months. I've been quite strict on myself when it comes to spending, and making sure that I only purchase necessary and essential items. A few ways I've managed this is by trying to use up my beauty stash, re-wear and re-style clothing items for example. It's definitely been important for me to use what I already have in order to save some extra pounds.

3. Use Discount Codes and Vouchers - I'll admit it, I always seem to be on the hunt for discounts and vouchers, especially when shopping online. I always check my emails for discount codes, or simply have a quick google sometimes strikes lucky. I've also got both the Honey and Pouch extensions added to my internet browser, hoping that one of them will give me some savings when taking my shopping basket to the checkout. You may only save a few pounds each time, but it definitely adds up over time, and I can assure you, the money is better in your pocket!

4. Sell Unwanted Items - This is perfect for decluttering your home and getting rid of unused, unwanted or unworn items, and giving them a better home somewhere else. I've been listing unwanted clothing, shoes and other bits and bobs on eBay recently, and it's definitely helped me save a few coins whilst emptying my wardrobe.

5. Save Up Spare Change - This is a really quick and simple way to add some extra funds into your life. Every time you get change or find some money laying around in your coat or handbag, add it to a money jar or money box. It may only seem small to begin with, but over the year it will definitely add up. I've done this previously a few years ago, and had just over £100 in change!

6. Find Cheaper Alternatives - This doesn't have to be for everything, as many of us will definitely have holy grail items or products we just cant live without. But if you're on the hunt for something new, definitely try out cheaper brands/products, as you may really be surprised with what you can find. There are so many brands offering such affordable but high quality products, you'll definitely be able to save some money by testing them out, and you never know, you may repurchase in the future!

What ways will you be improving your finances in 2021? Do you have any money goals?

AD| Are you single and looking for love? Are you finding it hard to meet the right person? Dating can be very daunting if you haven't done it for a long while but it can also be fun and exciting. But did you know that one in five relationships in the UK now begin online. If you’re single and dating, you’re no doubt facing special challenges during the current crisis with the world going crazy over coronavirus, when it comes to starting new relationships. Dating during these times has gone online and dating apps or websites have made it easier than ever for singles to get 'out' there and meet new people. As our lives become busier and more hectic, it can be tricky to find time to set aside to go on dates, or to even find people to go on dates with. Dating apps come in to help, by allowing you to get chatting to people more easily from the touch of a few buttons.

Online dating websites and apps are all over internet nowadays, and growing more and more popular everyday. As well as general dating sites like Tinder, Bumble, to name a few, there are some aimed at people with a specific theme, for example religion and age groups. Anyone of any age can date, find love, companionship and friendship using specific dating sites for their needs and to suit their lifestyle. Online dating helps you to make connections in your local area, and it's usually completely free to join.
online dating apps

For the younger generation, the use of dating websites and apps seems to be a big part of modern day society, and considered to be something that the majority of people currently use or have used in the past. The under 30's seem dating app whizz's as they seem to find these more comfortable to use in everyday life and with newer technology, it's so much simpler to get the hang of. Using sites like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge seem the most popular apps/websites for the younger generation, with online dating being available anytime and anywhere, you can keep up to date, talk, text and video chat with new people whilst on the go.

For the over 30's to 50's ish, a more middle aged group, your adulting life starts to take over in full force and you don't seem to live as carefree as you did in your younger days. Your lifestyle enters into a more settled routine, and you would have figured out what you want or know what you’re looking for. As well as the previously mentioned dating sites like Tinder and Bumble, there are some websites that are available and more suited towards the middle aged group. Sites like match.com and eHarmony are advertised for a slightly more mature and adult audience.

With current dating apps that tend to cater to younger generations, it can be harder for the more elderly generation to find love and companionship, but there are several sites that cater just for them which makes it so much easier to find what they are looking for. Living as a single over 50 can be quite daunting, as you may feel extremely lonely and are lacking friendly company. With the more senior generation using specific older dating sites that are targeted mainly towards them can help them feel more comfortable and confident with online dating in their later life. The focus of these more age targeted sites is for a very much on long-term commitment rather than a more casual dating approach, so if you're looking for something serious, this could be worth a try.

As a round up for this post, I've put together a few helpful tips for finding love and friendship at any age, and things that will help you whilst online dating;

- Make sure you are happy with yourself before getting into a relationship.
- Make sure to be yourself, be honest and have confidence in yourself.
- Don't take rejection too personally and use it as a platform to better yourself and grow as a person.
- Be realistic and have patience. The 'one' might not come to you straight away.
- Know exactly what you want and make this clear in order to build genuine connections.
- Be more open minded, and maybe talk to someone who isn't necessarily your "usual type".
- Mostly importantly, keep online dating safe.

Have you tried online dating before? What websites or apps have you used? What advice would you give?

AD - GIFTED | Are you looking for the simplest yet stylish casual outfits that you can wear on an everyday basis? If so, you'll love these outfit ideas I've put together from FemmeLuxe!

Choosing an outfit for any occasion is the last thing you want to spend hours doing and wasting your time worrying about. For me, the best and easiest way to make putting your outfit together is to pick one item and style the entire outfit around that item. Knowing that you have a collection of staple pieces in your wardrobe that you can pair together for any occasion is a must have, and makes putting together outfits that little bit easier.

I was recently kindly gifted some pieces from FemmeLuxe, and wanted to share some essential wardrobe clothing items that everyone needs to help create some simple casual outfits and how I have styled them with other items I already have in my clothing collection for everyday wear.

womens everyday casual outfit styling maxi cardigan

For my first outfit, I've put together a very simple, effortless look that can be easily taken from day to night. Throughout autumn/winter I've been a huge fan of leather look/faux leather trousers and jeans, and have seen myself reaching for them more over normal black denim jeans. However, the real star of the show for me in this first outfit is the long stone maxi cardigan*. This is something that I've wanted to add into my wardrobe for a while but haven't quite found the perfect one, until now. The nude coloured cardigan fits into my wardrobe pretty well, it's a super versatile colour that will go with many outfit options. Knitted cardigans are the perfect piece to complete a simple outfit, for when you don't want to wear a heavy, thick coat. I know it'll come in handy during the warmer spring and summer days, when you need a light cover up for the cooler evenings.

womens everyday casual outfit styling black tracksuit

If a two piece tracksuit isn't the epitome of casual clothing, then I don't know what is. Especially whilst being on furlough, loungewear has been my absolute go-to daily attire, simply for its comfort, but still looking cute and put together. This black loungewear set*, featuring a simple oversized crew neck sweatshirt and black cuffed joggers, both have a relaxed fit, making it very comfortable to wear all day long. I like the fact this two pieces comes as a set, but obviously you can wear each piece individually with other items in your wardrobe. An all black outfit is a definite winner from me anyway!

womens everyday casual outfit styling grey joggers

Joggers are an essential wardrobe staple for me, especially during the current climate with the coronavirus pandemic. They are an item of that everyone probably has in their wardrobes, and are extremely versatile when it comes to incorporating and styling them in an outfit. Grey high waisted joggers* are an essential with me, you can style them with various bodysuits, crop tops, t shirts and sweaters for the ultimate chill look. I was drawn to picking these joggers as I felt the ruffled paper bag style waist just added that extra detail and interest to a plain pair of joggers.

womens everyday casual outfit styling black faux leather trousers

Finally, outfit number 4, another all black outfit. This time, something a little more smart and dressed up, but still suitable for an everyday, casual look. If you hadn't guessed by now, I love an all black outfit. I find them to be so effortless, stylish and flattering on any body shape and size. I think mixing materials and textures within an outfit really helps bring it together and make it stand out, which is what I've done here. A simple cotton high neck bodysuit paired with some faux leather high waisted joggers* is a match made in heaven. A running theme throughout these outfits has been some chunky black trainers, and I also think these are a must have shoe.

So whether you're looking for some outfit inspo, or are simply on the hunt for some new sites to purchase some new clothing items, I hope this post has given you that much needed inspiration. I know I definitely want to fill my wardrobe with loads more stylish and versatile casual pieces. You can never have too many!

Which outfit is your favourite? Have you shopped at FemmeLuxe?

AD| In the current times of uncertainty during the global COVID-19 pandemic, and the UK still facing some lockdown rules and restrictions, many single people are increasingly feeling lonely. From missing out on social interaction and finding it hard to talk to new people, but dating during these times and whilst observing social distancing shouldn't be too hard and there are plenty of ways to get your love life back on track with a few simple ideas.

social media dating

Social media usage is one of the most popular online activities, and a great invention to use if you're stuck at home during the lockdown period. You can do so many things at just a few clicks of the mouse, it's a perfect way to date when observing social distancing.

Something that is a perfect way to interact with your dates, or new-found relationships is through Facetime and video calls. These features are allowing users to interact without ever having to meet, and such calls can be made from any place at any time, making them increasingly convenient during the current circumstances. A video call before meeting in real life could be very helpful for many, especially for those lacking in confidence or those wanting to make sure they have picked the right person.

Another creative idea on dating during times of social distancing includes virtual dates. Whether you watch the same Netflix show together at the same time, cook the same meal over video, or even order each other your favourite takeaway and send it to the other one house. There are so many ways social media can help keep the spark alive during lockdown, what other ways can you think of?

Dating apps and websites have also been a helpful tool for those who find it hard and lack confidence with meeting people. Places like Tinder, Bumble, Aberdeen dating site, and Hinge, to name a few, have really helped single people to make new friends during this lockdown period. These dating apps and websites are usually free and very quick to set up, places like www.dateaberdeensingles.co.uk can be set up in minutes, making it even quicker to meet your match!

Following a recent speech from PM Boris Johnson, lockdown measures are slowly being loosened to the point where individuals are now allowed to meet up with one person outside of their household. This could be a great opportunity for single people to go on a social distancing date, respecting the 2-metre rule of distancing in public places set out by the government.

Social Distance Dating

A few good suggestions would be scenic park walks and indulgent picnics. This could be a very good first date opportunity as being outside can be very relaxing and calming for some, as well as dining on some really nice picnic snacks, what could possibly go wrong? Or for the more sporty of the singletons, a nice bike ride in the countryside could also be a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air, as well as getting in some exercise and bonding time with your date.

What other creative ways have you tried or know about with dating whilst observing social distancing rules?

AD - GIFTED | Are you planning on a homemade hamper this Mother's Day, but unsure on where or how to start?

A DIY Mothers Day Hamper is guaranteed to make any Mum feel extremely spoilt and loved! Sometimes a homemade and personalised gift can be super special and just as thoughtful as a ready-made present. The reason I think a DIY gift is better is simply due to the fact you can personalise and include some gifts that you know will be loved. Personalised hampers don't have to cost a lot. There are so many gift ideas out there, that you can still put together a gorgeous hamper on an affordable budget, or if you really want to make a luxury hamper, there's also the opportunity for that.

Pretty packaging and presentation can really take your DIY hamper go from 0 to 100. This will be helping to make your gift look more spectacular and special, and can even help to personalise your gift to your receivers preferences.

Firstly, you'll want to decide what hamper you want to go for. Depending on your budget, you could put together a more relaxed modern style with a decorative gift box/bag or opt for a more traditional wicker hamper. I'd recommend looking online, in local garden centres, homeware stores or charity shops to find a suitable container for your homemade gift hamper. It may also be worth finding one that can be reused over and over again, as something decorative or as a storage solution.

Starting off with the gorgeous Giorgio Armani Si perfume. This scent is chic, sultry, intense and soft at the same time, with deep aromas of fruity and floral notes. Heyland & Whittle is a great brand for those who love room fragrances and scents. I picked up the Clementine & Prosecco fragrance gift set as I think this is such a delightful combination; the fragrance is light and sweet, fruity and sparkling, perfect for a happy and uplifting Mother's Day gift. Again, chocolates is a must have, and these delicious Milk Chocolate selection box from Marks & Spencer looks exquisite. Also from Marks & Spencer is the Normandy Apple sparkling juice, an alternative for those not wanting to add a bottle of champagne, prosecco or wine.

Finishing up with some beauty products to help with the perfect pamper evening on Mother's Day. Soap & Glory are my ultimate favourite brand when it comes to skin and body care. They have such a vast selection of products and ranges that you'll be spoilt for choice. Faces masks scream relaxation to me, and this Miracle Moisture Mask is one of the best ones that I've tried. So refreshing, hydrating and moisturising. Finally, a newer brand I've discovered; Million Dollar Facial. Two of the best selling products that I would recommend would be the Million Dollar Medi+ Hydrating Elixir* and Medi+ Glyco Wash*.

What gifts will you be gifting on Mother's Day? Have you thought of compiling your own hamper? What would you include?

AD| Online learning is education or training that takes place over the internet, and has become increasingly more popular and current due to the current coronavirus circumstances. Educational organisations like schools and universities have had to implement digital ways of studying to ensure that students are still able to learn and work during this global pandemic. However, it's not just the younger generation attending school, college or university who can learn online. Absolutely anyone of any age can benefit from online learning and enrol in a number of courses suitable for them and to expand their horizons.

Learning new skills and gaining new qualifications has become increasingly more popular recently, many people are using their furlough time, or spare time after their 9-5 job wisely and productively to branch out into something new or expand on their current knowledge or skills. It's also allowed those who have lost their jobs through company collapse or redundancy to get back into education to boost future career opportunities and expand their skills for a wider scope. Many people who choose to go online for learning tend to have other commitments in their daily life, and prefer this method of learning for its convenience and flexibility.

One of the main benefits of online learning is that the majority of courses available are completely self paced and flexible for learners. Students can take their time learning at a pace that suits them to allow them to fully engage in the course and not feel any sense of being rushed or being overwhelmed by tight deadlines. Many learning from home courses will map out the course objectives and give a rough guide of the length of time is needed for completion that can help you plan out your studying time effectively. Such flexibility allows you to complete work at convenient times but still meeting course/assignment deadlines.

Boosting your career potential is also a huge benefit of online learning. Whether you want to expand your knowledge of your current job role or gain extra knowledge in hope of a promotion, taking up some online learning could help you achieve more. Those learners who currently are in work/employment can apply newly found knowledge and skills to their job immediately. When completing these online courses, you gain extra qualifications for your CV, and expand your knowledge on a number of subjects/topics.

Obviously if studying online in your spare time is something you wish to undertake, there is huge opportunity to be able to learn new skills or even pursue hobbies and gain some qualification from it. Something that would really interest me is learning and improving my Graphic Design skills. There are a number of affordable and comprehensive web design courses online that I think would be very interesting, creative and suitable for those with artistic interests. As a blogger, this would be extremely beneficial when it comes to designing and editing blog themes, blog headers and images.

online learning notes

Online courses are easily available and can be extremely affordable. Depending on the learning provider you choose, there are a number of free courses available online, as well as many heavily discounted courses, making them widely available to many people. For those who didn't attend university in their late teens, there are many associations that offer affordable online degrees that you can take either part time or full time depending on your lifestyle.

Another benefit of online learning is that it can help with personal development. By taking part in online courses, you can further your own skills and abilities, by improving communication, time-keeping writing and reading skills. These courses can also build your confidence, be more productive and help lead a more successful life.

Some that makes online learning so incredible is the large selection of courses available to choose from. Whatever you want to learn/study, there is hundreds of courses out there, from first aid to sciences, history to creative subjects and much much more, there's something out there for everyone's interests. There's definitely no restrictions on how many courses you enrol in and the amount of qualifications you can gain from online learning, so we might as well make the most of it!

Finally, taking part in online courses from home can be extremely rewarding and brain stimulating. As we grow older, we never top learning and there is nothing stopping you from gaining huge amounts of knowledge about subjects that interest you. Your brain is something that needs interaction and stimulation in order to boost functionality, help with memory and simply gives you something new and different to think about. Online courses are great whatever your ages, so it's definitely never too late to find a new course and enrol today!

Have you signed up to any online courses recently? What subjects interest you?
