AD| Recycling at doesn't have to be a time consuming and complicated process. The best place to begin making a difference to the environment is right in your very own home. You'd be surprised with the amount of household packaging waste that can actually be reused and upcycled. By putting more thought into the way you manage your household waste, you'll be able to save money, reduce the amount of waste you're piling up and have a less damaging impact on the environment.

Being more eco-friendly, sustainable and preserving our environment are becoming more important and more necessary than ever. Simply by incorporating a few small changes in your daily routine can really help look after our environment and reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and our oceans.

Glass Jars
You can recycle any glass jar for a number uses, but I've found that some are more useful than others based on their size and shape. Glass packaging is definitely better than purchasing plastic, so next time your in the supermarket, see if you can be more sustainable with the way you shop. Some good examples of glass jars that a great to be reused include pasta sauce jars, dessert pots, chutney and jam jars and salad dressing bottles. These glass jars can be used for a multitude of things including storage for dry food items, containers for your overnight oats, or making your own jams, chutneys or sauces to be stored away.

Cardboard Boxes
Cardboard makes up a huge percentage of household waste from Amazon parcels, shoe boxes and cereal boxes, you can often find yourself stacking up quite the mountain. However, cardboard boxes can be extremely handy in the home and can be reused and recycled for a number of things. For example, cardboard boxes can donated to small business or even be used for storage, presenting birthday presents and gifts, and even artwork. Bespoke packaging is totally custom-designed, and could be something to research/be of interest if you're using your cardboard boxes to present gifts for loved ones. You could design and tailor the box for any occasion, and it could end up being a completely unique gift box that didn't cost a penny.

Egg Boxes
You may never have thought of ways egg boxes can be reused in the home, but there are a few simple things you can do than require them. Firstly, if you have children, you can use the egg boxes for arts and craft activities to keep them occupied. They can be cut up and made into different models or even used as a paint palette. Another idea for reusing egg boxes could be using them as storage holders for little bits and bobs you have lying around the house. For example, you could use them for storing jewellery, stationary or even decorative tools such as nails, nuts and bolts.

Glass Bottles
Glass is better than plastic when packaging pretty much anything. It's definitely much stronger, more durable and can be reused in a number of ways, you'd be surprised. Make sure to rinse them out before upcycling into something new. A few creative ideas include using the bottle as a vase for flowers, use them as candlestick holders, insert some fairy lights and use as a table centrepiece or even fill them with oil and add chilli or garlic to infuse with flavour.

Wine Corks
For those who love some wine in the evenings, saving the corks for your bottles could come in handy, especially if you're very artistic and creative. Wine corks can be used for a number of quick and easy DIY projects, where the end result can be simply stunning. You can create your own cork stamps, use the corks to decorate picture frames or even create your very home art installation feature by filling a large glass container with plenty of wine corks.

What other ways do you recycle your household waste?

AD| When winter winds pound your home, you know the time has come to add some cheer and cosiness to spruce up the interiors. This seasonal change reflects in every room and alters the way they usually look. To make your private burrow visually appealing, try out these basic cosmetic improvements, that will keep you warm and snuggled up, till well after Santa has bid goodbye.

cosy winter home

Set the tone with the living room
The living room is the best place to relax on the sofa with a good book in winter, and is normally a place you spend a lot of time in. Since comfort and warmth is the priority, pile up your sofa with cushions and blankets or add a stylish throw. Roll out a carpet to keep your feet warm with a rug that matches the colour scheme of the living room. To avoid a running noise, put on some socks and strut around in total comfort. Depending on the size of your living space, it may be easier and quicker to install carpet tiles. Online stores such as www.carpettilewholesale.co.uk are a good option as they offer a variety of carpet tile styles in a variety of colours, at an affordable price, perfect for any home's colour theme.

Update the bedroom
If you want your bedroom to replicate the vibe of a luxury hotel, give it a quick upgrade by layering it with throws and pillows. Curtains, throws along with velvet pillows, will not only add a touch of luxury to any room but will convert it into a place of cosy refuge till the temperature starts to rise again. Moreover, these simple accents can be easily removed whenever necessary.

Infuse cheery colours
A splash of colour can instantly change stark and cold spaces into a cheerful environment. Add a few bold designed pillows or a bright throw to get rid of the winter blues and glam up the room. If you mix the right warm terracotta and cool grey tones, the shades can last you well up to spring. The best part is that they are hardly a major investment.

Don't forget the kitchen
Winter months take their toll on the kitchen, so it is important to give a little makeover to this place as well to give it a new look. You can add a patterned shade to your kitchen windows, to make it look bright and cheery for many days. You can even stitch your own curtains by purchasing the fabric and colour of your choice and hang it from the rods using clip-style curtain rings.

Install a good curtain
Curtains help insulate a room by preventing the loss of warm air, and in turn beat the cold. Thermal curtains are not only aesthetically pleasing, they also provide the utmost privacy as they are made of thick materials. Select the style that complements your room the most, and determine the correct length to increase the look of your windows.

luxury bath pamper

Transform the bathroom
After returning home exposed to freezing temperatures and hostile winds, it is the time to treat yourself to the luxury of a steaming hot bath. Turn your bathroom into a spa by putting on the stereo, light scented candles, add a few drops of your favourite aroma to the foam and enjoy a steamy downpour in the backdrop of a printed shower curtain. When you finish, wrap yourself in a soft, fluffy towel featuring your favourite print.

Add a touch of greenery
How do you get some freshness into your home with all windows closed, and the outside world is like a part of the North Pole? Exotic plants will purify the air and add a touch of greenery into your interiors and allow you to drift to sleep dreaming of warmer climes. Try adding plants like lavender, eucalyptus or jasmine to infuse a nice aroma into the surroundings.

What features would your cosy winter home have? Do you have any other tips?

AD| Are you dreaming of happier and sunnier times? With the current ongoing global pandemic, things are currently looking uncertain due to coronavirus and lockdowns, but it's definitely important to plan ahead and give yourself something to hopefully look forward to. COVID-19 has changed all of our worlds completely, and not just in the short-term. One major difference we all face at the moment is restrictions on travel, and I'm sure your next European holidays and vacations will look very different for the foreseeable future. Obviously, I'm sure we aren't going to be able to jump on a plane and jet off anywhere soon, but it's nice to think about it, right?

After spending so much time at home in lockdown, I've definitely been dreaming about warmer weather and future European holiday destinations, for when the time is right, the world is more stable and in a better place. For me, Europe is definitely emerging as a go-to place for travel, not only for it's beautiful destinations, but for its accessibility and its affordability. From an array of historic landmarks and attractions, mouth-watering cuisines, spectacular views and scenery, it's definitely a continent to consider when planning your next city break or beach holiday in Europe.

◉ RHODES, GREECE ◉
I've been fortunate to visit two absolutely beautiful Greek islands over the last few years. Both Crete and Zakynthos have been such dreamy holiday locations, and has definitely given me a small insight into the idyllic and breath-taking destinations Greece has to offer. Next on my list for Greece is the gorgeous island of Rhodes; the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its stunning beach resorts, historic ancient ruins and soaring mountaintops. With such a variety of scenery, Rhodes is the perfect location for those who love to get outside and explore nature.

◉ DUBROVNIK, CROATIA ◉
Dubrovnik, in the extreme south of Croatia, is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. With such beautiful landscapes, endless beaches and a city full of history, Dubrovnik is one of the most prominent tourist resorts of the Mediterranean, and an upcoming European holiday destination for the younger generation. From visiting a variety of beach to sightseeing to museums, and shopping and extraordinary places to eat, this stunning Croatian city is definitely worth the visit.

◉ AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS ◉
A trip to Amsterdam would definitely be an unforgettable adventure. With beautiful parks and canals, a vibrant nightlife scene and various museums, Amsterdam boasts an abundance of activities and sights worth a visit. A modern city break destination full of history, art and culture, it's definitely somewhere I can't wait to visit.

◉ ISTANBUL, TURKEY ◉
No other city in the world features on two continents. Istanbul is the city where East meets West, boasting such multicultural and diverse traditions of both Europe and Asia. A city full of historic landmarks, spectacular attractions, stunning scenery and extraordinary food, it's definitely not one to miss!

◉ PAPHOS, CYPRUS ◉
Definitely one of the newest destinations on my travel bucket list, but it definitely deserves a mention. Cyprus is know to have the longest summer in Europe, and Paphos is home to gorgeous sandy beaches, making it an ideal European destination if you're after a relaxing beach holiday, and some down time to soak up the Mediterranean sun.

Travel Tips Post Pandemic ◉

Research - Before thinking of travelling abroad, it's really import to do your research and plan ahead. You will want to pick a destination that you feel safe going to and that you will feel comfortable visiting. As well as this, it's also important to research into any specific rules and guidelines that are currently ongoing to make sure you're following as safely and as necessary as possible.

Health - Obviously, it's always best to go on holiday when you're fully healthy and ready to jet off somewhere. Travelling after a global pandemic might be worrying, stressful and just a completely anxious time, so it's important to take the plunge when you're fully ready. However, those who may not be 100% fit or have suffered with COVID-19, might need some extra support for overseas travel. Travelling with oxygen may seem daunting at first, but it's a really beneficial method for making the whole travel experience as easy as possible. Whether you need an Oxygen Concentrator UK or one for out of the country, you are sure to find one that's suitable for your travel needs.

Preparation - Making lists and travel itineraries are great ways to plan and prep your next holiday. This allows you to make detailed notes of things you'll need, places you're going and also it will make you feel more at ease and less stressed.

Safety - One of the most important travel tips is safety. You will want to make sure you're planning your trips in the safest way possible, and following any specific travel guidelines that are put in place, not only for yourself, but for others around you.

What European destinations are on your future travel bucket lists? Have you visited any mentioned in today's blog post?

AD| Emerald engagement rings are fast becoming a popular choice for many. They are still in a stage of uniqueness where they are not common, making any emerald engagement ring an inimitable choice that’s sure to stand out among the crowds. The question arises time and again, however, of ‘are emeralds ok for an engagement ring’?

When people ask this, they’re typically talking about whether or not emeralds are suitable for the general rough and tumble that an engagement ring can expect to face, particularly if it’s being worn every day. Diamonds are not only the typical stone of choice for engagement rings entirely due to their beauty and unmatchable sparkle – they are also incredibly hardwearing. The strongest natural material known to exist; the durability of diamonds is peerless.

So, are emeralds equally as up to the task?

emerald engagement rings

The Mohs Scale
The Mohs scale of hardness puts a variety of minerals on a ten-point scale to determine which mineral is hardest and which is softest. Created in 1812, the Mohs scale has faced criticism for its relative lack of precision, but it is still used by geologists and gemmologists alike. The basis of the scale is to use minerals to attempt to mark other minerals. The mineral that leaves a mark is stronger than the one that is marked, and so it moves up the scale. Diamonds sit pretty at the 10-point spot, being the hardest mineral in the world.

Emeralds sit between a 7.5 and an 8 on the Mohs scale, putting them lower than gemstones like topaz and sapphires, and higher than gemstones like opals and peridots. Most gemstones sit between the 5-point and 10-point spots on the Mohs hardness scale, and emeralds sit in a fairly upper-central position for gemstones.

Emerald Hardness
What does this mean for the hardness of emeralds? Are they durable enough to make for good engagement rings? Well, they are still strong for gemstones, despite not reaching the same level of toughness as diamonds. If your engagement ring features accent emeralds, it is certainly up to par for everyday wear, provided you inspect any claws and the overall structural integrity of your ring roughly once or twice a year.

For those of you more interested in the antique emerald engagement ring styles, where the emerald is the focal point of the ring and therefore the largest – usually most central – stone, there might be slightly different rules. Large emeralds, simply by virtue of being large, open themselves up to a higher possibility of damage. If your engagement ring is an emerald statement piece of jewellery, it should probably be reserved for more formal occasions, or social occasions such as meeting up with friends, going for a shopping trip, or being on holiday. Everyday tasks such as cleaning, cooking, or any physical labour should be done with minimal jewellery.

Emerald Engagement Rings
Overall, emeralds make an excellent choice for engagement rings. Emeralds ranging between 0.5 a carat and 2.5 carats are generally suitable for being worn the same amount as diamonds of the same size. They’re generally cheaper stones, they have something unique about them due to their colour, and they come in the same range of styles as diamond engagement rings.

If you’re interested in emerald engagement rings, whether it’s due to their wide range of green shades, their overall individuality as an engagement ring, or because you’re curious about having an engagement ring that matches your or your other half’s birthstone, you could certainly do a lot worse. Emeralds are beautiful gemstones that are sure to see you right if you take care of them the way they deserve.

What do you think – are emeralds ok for an engagement ring to you?

AD| Something as simple as a smile actually has a great deal of depth, believe it or not. Take the example set by BBC News, for example, who in 2017 covered 19 types of smile wherein only 6 were for happiness. Each toothy grin, mischievous smirk, or noisy belly laugh communicates a separate meaning, with an abundance of nuance to be tapped into thereafter. Even if you don’t quite realise it, you are constantly communicating something about yourself with every twitch of your lips.

You may also be reading into other people’s feelings more than you might know when they spare a smile too! With so many ranges of emotions and purposed portrayed from smiles, it’s worth considering how crucial yours could be. So, let’s explore this further. Just how important is your smile?

girl smiling

A Sign of Compliance?
Many women have endured that incredibly patronising moment where they are told to ‘smile more’ by some random person on the street. It’s understandable to be irritated by this remark. After all, it’s unhealthy to adopt a mindset whereby you owe anyone anything, particularly a smile to a stranger. Some people keep such things reserved for the special people or moments in their life, or simply don’t want to walk around looking gleeful without an actual reason to be.

There’s nothing wrong with having your guard up or being neutral with people you don’t know. Therefore, your smile can be a sign of submission, particularly if you hand it out to strangers on the street like a dancing monkey. Some even argue that, for women, looking unapproachable on occasion can be a great asset, and if that’s the way you want to go about things, that’s valid. In the end, using your smiles at your own discretion is all that can reasonably be expected of you.

A Mood Setter
A smile can be infectious, and there’s a lot of power in that! Louis Armstrong was partially right; "when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you". If the more open sort, then smiling can be viewed as putting yourself out there, thereby encouraging others to follow suit and do the same. If you can be the people’s champion in that regard, people may come to view you as a beacon of positivity, and the go-to for a good time!

If you smile when meeting someone for the first time, you’re almost guaranteed to have them return the favour. Most people like to be around happy individuals, hoping their upbeat energy will be infectious enough to give them a lift somewhat. If you can provide that, you’re winning.

A Personality Highlight
In any social engagement, a smile can lift everything up, allowing your personality to sing in all its glory. If you’re more inclined to smile in social settings, you might find you make more friends, or even have better luck with potential romantic partners. Your smile demonstrates a degree of openness, and it can also be the ultimate wordless compliment. After all, you are showing that you are happy with the company you’re keeping in a very organic way, free from the dilution of words.

To electrify your smile even further, you could consider something like the Crest Whitening Strips from EuroWhite to give your chompers some extra shine. While every smile is a lovely smile, if you’re self-conscious about your own, these fluoride toothpastes and 3D Crest Whitestrips might just help you clamber over a few hurdles. You’ll have less anxiety when you know you’re looking your personal best, enabling you to thrive in any social situation imaginable.

girl smiling

A Tension Reliever
Just as much as your smile can set the mood of a social scene, it can also defuse any unwanted tensions that come from others later on. It sometimes takes a skilful smile to counter negative vibes. After all, everyone is aware of at least one person misery guts in their life killing vibes left and right. Much of dusting these people down and turning their attitudes around can come from your smile. It communicates that you’re above their drama and they should be too, without launching tirades and being confrontational!

Being able to smile through someone else’s negativity can also influence the ‘Debbie Downer’ also. If you’re being bullied, a grin from you could be enough to let them know that their efforts are wasted on you. You could be splitting up a fight between friends, and the smirk can be a signal that their squabble is rather pathetic. Use it wisely, and your smile can turn ugly situations into harmless, forgettable instances.

A Cunning Disguise
The phrase ‘grin and bear it’ has lasted a great many years for a reason, and there is no harm in taking it literally once in a while. A smile can not only defuse other’s confrontations, but also your own. Bored at a friend’s party? Smiling is likely the polite way to conceal your true feelings about the matter. Irritated by a very temporary acquaintance? A grin might just be enough to get you through the encounter unscathed socially.

Sometimes, a smile can be worn like a mask, seeing you through awkward or unfavourable situations sooner rather than later. Of course, you shouldn’t conceal your feelings in times of true distress, and getting help should be at the top of your agenda in such scenarios. However, for the more trivial, mind-numbing matters in life, grinning and bearing it can prevent sticky scenarios becoming more uncomfortable.

A Professional Tool
Smiles are incredibly useful tools in professional settings, enabling people to ease up and relax when important matters are being discussed. Even the job interview stage benefits from a warm smile. Whether you’re the interviewer or the interviewee, smiling tells the other parties that you’re pleasant and comfortable under pressure. Of course, nobody wants to work with soulless drones all day, so if you can offer a smile, it’s just a signal that you’re positive, upbeat, and happy to be there.

It’s not just about interviews either. Client meetings, monthly performance reviews, customer facing roles; the smile takes the sting out of all of them. You will notice that most shop staff you have dealt with in your life have had a smile on their face, as in that context, it is incumbent with their role and a large part of how they engage customers.

Ultimately, when you’re selling a product or service, a wide toothy grin is a tool in your arsenal.

AD| The most important decision when beginning to create and make your dream garden a reality, is simply deciding what type of theme/layout you would like to create in the space that you have. Gardens coming in all shapes and sizes depending on where you live and what type of property you own, so it's definitely important to think ahead and plan what you want to ensure it fits nicely.

Essentially, your garden is an outdoor extension of your home, it's the area of the house you would spend the most time in during the warmer months of the year, so you'll want to make it as aesthetically pleasing and welcoming as possible. Search for Inspiration
Before designing your garden, looking for ideas and inspiration is something that can really help open your eyes to a variety of themes, styles and layouts that you could potentially bring to your own back garden. There's so many possibilities for what kind of atmosphere you want to create in your dream garden, it can be a real struggle to know exactly what you want. However, there is so many places you can seek inspiration from, and some of them are even free or just require internet access. Pinterest and Instagram are both great online resources when it comes to finding inspiration for certain tasks. You simply type in what you want to look at, and thousands of results come up. Another place to find inspiration is by exploring the area around you. Have a look at neighbours front gardens, have a walk around a local area or even visiting parks. There's so much variety in the environment that it will definitely help you narrow down your design inspiration for your dream garden.

Measure Up and Plan Your Layout
Having a rough layout guide and taking measurements of your garden area are definitely ideal methods of beginning to create your dream garden. This allows you to understand what space you have to work with and also to be able to visualise on paper what elements you could bring to your dream garden before starting any work. You will also be able to come up with multiple drawn plans, helping you to try out different design/layout options before you commit to the final design. You could hire professionals for this, but keep the costs low by doing it yourself. All you need is a tape measure, some pens and paper and you're good to go.

Consider Adding Multiple Textures
Creating your dream garden space doesn't just have to be a grassed area and nothing else. Consider adding multiple textures and materials to create a dynamic atmosphere and interesting look. Adding things like grass, gravel, concrete slabs and wooden patio areas help to add texture and create interest in your outdoor space. With your outdoor space more inviting and exciting, you're bound to want to spend more time outside and admire your handy work.

Incorporate Plants
Adding greenery, shrubs and flowers to your garden is the perfect way to inject some colour, texture and life into your outdoor area. This helps make your outdoor space that little bit more colourful, inviting and appealing. It's also a key visual element when planning your garden set up, and you should pick the right plants that you feel will be suitable, manageable and maintainable for your lifestyle. Things to consider whilst deciding on the plants you would like to use include the area where you live, the weather conditions and the amount of space you have.

Create Seating Areas
Don’t forget to create a space to enjoy your efforts. Having somewhere comfortable and welcoming to spend your time in the garden is an essential must have, and something that can be made quite affordable when on a budget. A patio or concreted area is a perfect set up for your garden furniture and a lovely place to relax and look out across your beautiful garden. Choosing a professional domestic concrete supplier might be a great idea for this, as they will offer you the best pricing quotes and use high quality materials to ensure longevity of your building works.

Paint Outdoor Buildings and Fences
Finally, if you're garden is in need of a freshen up, adding a splash of paint to garages, sheds, and fences could just be the answer to all your dream garden needs. By doing this, you can really liven up your outdoor space and give it that TLC it really needs. These outdoor buildings could be the main focal areas of your garden, so it's important to keep them in good condition and well looked after. Paint can be found very affordably at any DIY or home store, and it might be just what you need to make your outdoor garden space go from 0 to 100.

With the current colder wintery weather, finding the right haircare routine has never been more important. If 2021 is the year you're looking to upgrade your haircare regime, look no further. This year, I'm all over trying to improve my haircare game. I'm making sure to get my hair in the best condition, keep it nourished, and ultimately, grow it longer.

I've been following a number of different haircare tips, incorporating these into my daily routine, to help with my haircare journey this year. Alongside these haircare tips, I've been expanding the haircare products I've been using, experimenting with different brands and treatments, in order to find those suitable for my hair type and needs.

The Hair Boss Overnight Repair Serum
"A luxuriously rich serum that revives and repairs damaged hair while you sleep."

Developed by hair expert Lisa Shepherd, The Hair Boss is a current favourite go-to brand of mine to help tackle my hair problems. Recently, I've been trying out The Overnight Repair Serum to help restore my drier mid-lengths and ends, and regain some much needed moisture. With a lightweight formula, you only need a couple drops everyday to get the best results. A little bit definitely goes a long way, and this 30ml bottle is bound to last you a long time.

Formulated with a blend of luxurious hair oils, this overnight serum has seriously been helping to hydrate and replenish my dry ends. It’s an indulgent, and easy way to improve hair health with only a few seconds work, adding that much needed moisture it's desperately needing.

· Chia Seed Oil - rich in various fatty acids that can penetrate the hair shaft to seal in moisture and prevents hair breakage.

· Macadamia Nut Oil - great for calming frizz, tangles, and dullness.

· Argan Oil - can moisturize your hair and scalp and protect your hair from everyday damage.

· Sunflower Seed Oil - deeply nourishing and soothing to dry hair and scalps. It locks in moisture and helps keeps hair healthy and strong.

· Soy Bean Oil - contains many essential vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids.

· Coconut Oil - adds lustre, shine and softness to the hair, as well as promoting hair growth.

"Turn back time with our luxuriously rich serum that works to reduce the signs of damage while you sleep. Rich in natural oils the serum provides the hair with vital nutrients and moisture needed for strong, healthy hair."

The Overnight Repair Serum has been a great addition into my haircare routine, so simple to use and requires minimum effort, it's a thumbs up from me! I like to keep this hair serum next to my bed, to ensure the application of the product is so easy and quick. Before I go to sleep, I like to warm 2-3 drops of the product into the palm of my hands, and gently massage into the mid-lengths and ends of my hair.

I follow this by simply brushing my hair, to make sure all the product has been evenly distributed through my hair, and leave it to work its magic overnight. With regular use of this product, I have definitely seen a change in the texture and appearance of my hair, especially at the ends. The Overnight Repair Serum has definitely helped add moisture and shine back into my hair, and provided that hydration it's really needed on my journey to healthy, strong hair.

Have you tried The Hair Boss Overnight Repair Serum? What products feature in your haircare routine?

AD - GIFTED | When it comes to jewellery, I keep my collection pretty basic as it's not something I tend to wear on an everyday basis. When I do incorporate jewellery into an outfit, I tend to wear pretty small and definitely more subtle pieces, as I find these much more comfortable to wear. When it comes to wearing minimalist jewellery, you don't want to get too fussy.

Top tips when picking dainty jewellery pieces

- Pick simple, clean pieces. This allows you to make a statement with your jewellery choices whilst still being minimal. Think of it in terms of the saying "less is more".

- Go bold with geometric design pieces. If you want to add some interest to your jewellery collection, incorporating chains with pendants might be something to go for. They help being some elegance to your outfit, whilst being super simplistic and easy to wear.

- Stack your statement pieces. This styling technique can really take your basic outfit from 0 to 100 with minimal effort. Layering up 2 or 3 necklaces together is an easy way to make your jewellery stand out, whilst not being to loud and 'in your face'.

- Avoid mixing metals with necklaces. This is something I tend to stick to. When it comes to jewellery, I usually stick to gold as this is my preferred metal. I find by sticking to one metal for necklaces helps to pull the look together and makes it more sophisticated and classic.

Jewel Editions Necklace

A recent addition to my collection has been from Jewel Editions; an everyday jewellery company that combines quality materials, contemporary designs, and affordable prices.
I decided to add the Gold Moon Necklace* into my collection as I thought it was the perfect addition to my minimal jewellery collection.

This delicate gold necklace is a subtle and classic piece that can help add that hint of sparkle to any outfit. I've been wearing the necklace alone for a more simple, dainty look, or sometimes teaming it up with something a little more chunky for a more layered look. I find that when I mix different necklaces, it helps to create more of a statement piece that can really bring a more casual outfit to life.

Why necklaces are the perfect outfit accessory

-  They add interest to your outfit. Incorporating necklaces into your daily outfits can help add interest and sometimes be a conversation starter. With the right size and style, they can intrigue others to ask questions.

- To dress up a more casual look. Adding statement pieces to casual outfits is the easiest way to take your look from day to night. A t-shirt and jeans might be a simple everyday outfit, but combine it with a statement necklace and some heels, and it's instantly more dressy.

- They draw eyes up to your face. Having a focal point near your face will draw attention to it, and make other parts of your body/outfit less noticeable.

AD| Ready to buy a your first home? Buying a home is one of the most significant and important financial decisions you'll make in your lifetime, and you need to make sure that you know what's going on.

It's definitely an extremely exciting time during anyone's life but it can also be super stressful if you aren't well informed about the buying process. It's also a great goal to have set yourself, but there's definitely a lot of work involved in the house buying process to make it actually happen.

First time home buyer

First things first, savings. It's important to have a substantial amount of money saved up to make sure you're financially stable and to help you secure your first home. Once enough money has been saved, it's then time to decide on the budget that you can realistically afford, and will be able to manage payments for. Take a look at your finances to see what you can save each month, and how long it’ll take you to get to your target. Saving up for that house deposit can be an extremely difficult challenge, but it's what is needed to make that dream home a reality.

Something else to consider is income protection. Income Protection is one of the most important insurances, as without a regular income you could be hard-pressed to pay the bills. It simply pays out a percentage of your salary if you’re signed off of work through illness or injury, so whether you’re self employed or work for someone else, have a family or live alone, this could be something to look into.

When deciding on the type of home you want to buy, it's really important to think about the long term future of where you want to live. There are many options to consider; are you buying for yourself? Will you be living with a partner? Do you see yourself having a family in the near future? Will you have pets? All these things will make you think of the amount of space you will require, and sometimes it's better to pick something that will reflect your future plans.

Another important factor to consider when buying your home, is choosing the perfect location for your needs. This could be depending on your job, your budget or your lifestyle. It might also be wise to look at a few different areas and see which you like the look of the most, and has the best environment for you. Similarly, once you begin the house search in the areas you've selected, it's important not to settle for just one house, you should ideally view multiple properties to get better judgement of what you can get for your money, and what type of property will work for you and your needs.

One of the main things throughout your first home buying journey, and one of the most important and necessary things to do is to simply ask questions. There may be a whole array of silly questions, important questions, or even things you just don't understand, but as a buyer, you should make sure that you're fully confident when starting your journey into purchasing your first home.

AD| Whether you’re just about to launch a start-up or your business is ten years old, you should always be thinking of innovative ways to attract new customers and retain existing ones. This essentially comes down to your marketing strategy and some trial-and-error processes to figure out what works for your company and what doesn’t. Read on for some helpful tips.

working from home business

1) Audit Your Website
Nowadays, it’s absolutely crucial for all companies to have a fully functional website. Potential customers will use the website to gauge the value of the products or services, 24 hours a day. Assess your website or contact an SEO agency to carry out an audit on your behalf so that you can figure out some areas for improvement, and therefore attract more traffic to the site.

Consider the following when auditing your site:
· Does your website align with your brand values?
· Is your website responsive across all devices?
· Does your website load quickly?
· Does your website run on HTTPs?
· Does your website contain any broken links?
· Does your website contain enough relevant content and keywords?

2) Share on Social Media
The online world doesn’t just refer to your website. Social media is another great way to advertise your products or services to a wider audience. Employ a graphic designer or try your hand at creating your own on Canva or another design tool so that you can share stunning visuals on your social pages. Make use of appropriate hashtags and ensure your captions are captivating.

You should also consider the best time to post on social media, as this is crucial for boosting engagement. This will involve some experimentation, but you could also look at the Instagram Insights tool if you have a business account to get an idea of when your followers are usually active.

3) Launch Some Google Ads
Goole Ads allow you to get to the top of Google’s Search Engine Results Page so that you stand out amongst your competitors. Again, this is another way to get notices online, but you’ll need to do your research so that you are targeting appropriate keywords. You may require some additional support with this, but it will be worth it for the ROI.

4) Giveaway Merchandise
Promotional merchandise is a fantastic way to appeal to your target audience and make yourselves more memorable. Here are some examples of how you can use branded items to promote your business.

· Take branded stationery, such as pens and notepads, along to your pitch meetings
· If you’re an eCommerce company, add a small gift to customers’ online orders
· Launch a competition on social media, in which a selection of branded items form the prize
· If you own a store or restaurant, give away promotional merchandise with each purchase

These are just a few ideas to get you started, but there are plenty of other things you can do with promotional items. Just make sure the items you choose are illustrative of your brand. For instance, if you own a beauty salon, you could give away little lip glosses or nail polish. Don’t worry if your branded merchandise campaign doesn’t result in a large influx of sales; it’s more about building relationships.

5) Concentrate on Customer Retention
It’s usually a lot easier and more affordable to retain existing clients/customers than it is to attract new ones, and handy because they tend to spread the news about how great you are. Be sure to inform them of any changes to your business that might affect your relationships, engage with them through emails and social media and encourage them to leave you feedback on Trustpilot and other review sites.

The above suggestions merely scratch the surface when it comes to marketing, but should give you a few ideas to inspire you to take your marketing campaign to the next level.

Do you use any of these ways to market your business? What other tips do you have?

AD| Is it just me, or do we seem to spend so much time during the winter dreaming of summer? Summer is 100% the perfect time of year to really relax and indulge in what you really love doing in the garden whether that be gardening, cooking, playing games, outdoor arts & crafts, or even sunbathing on those really warm summer days.

Especially as the garden really becomes an extension of our homes during the summer, and we spend many hours soaking up the sun outside. It's definitely important to make sure your garden looks well looked after, and the best part about it is that it doesn't have to cost a lot of money to have a successful transformation.

So ultimately, it’s really worth taking some time now to tidy up and prepare for the summer months and here's a few tips to get you started on how to get your garden summer ready!

cute summer garden furniture

First things first, get the lawn mower plugged in and get grass cutting, as this is the first essential job in transforming your garden, especially after a cold winter where it's been left untouched. Mowing is the key to a healthy, fresh lawn, and can help keep your garden looking neat and tidy, as well as keeping out any weeds. Plus, it just makes your garden feel more welcoming and attractive, that you'll be wanting admire it more and spend the summer months in it! An alternative to this is investing in ready to go turf. Turf products are designed to replicate the look and feel of natural grass, all while offering superior durability and minimal maintenance. If this is something you want to consider, why not take a look at Dallas Turf Company.

Now, is it really summer if you don't have the barbecue out at least once a week? Barbecues in the summer are just the ultimate chilled out, culinary experience, and a great way to enjoy great food, great company, as well as great weather. For me, barbecues are a great time to experiment with new ingredients, recipes and marinades. From grilled meats, vegetables and kebabs, to burgers and hot dogs, as well as side salads and pastas, there's so much choice with what to cook, you'll definitely be spoilt for choice!

During the summer months, we spend a lot of time outdoors, so it's definitely important to have some comfortable furniture at the ready, and easily accessible for when the weather starts to pick up and get warmer. Garden furniture can really help transform your garden, and can make you feel like you're living the dream in some idyllic beach resort, when in reality, it's just from the comfort of your back garden. With the addition of some luxury rattan furniture, you can bring that stunning vacation spot a little closer to home whilst relaxing in style.

Another quick way to transform your garden is including flowers to bring some vibrancy and colour to your outdoor area. As well as this, they help to make your garden space, however big or small, feel welcoming and they can also help you to feel calm and relaxed, plus they are extremely pretty to look at.

Finally, to give you that real vacation feel, inflatable swimming pools are just a must have! Inflatable pools are the best way to cool off in your garden and enjoy some much needed family fun during the summer. They give you that pool side/beach feeling from the comfort of your garden, without the travelling and the expensive holiday price tag.

What ways will you transform your garden for the upcoming summer months?
